STAGE 3 TRACKING

STAGE 3: SAN JUAN > CHILECITO

Connection 258km | Special Stage 284km | Total 542km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The pressure which competitors faced the day before (and late into the night for some of them), will partly ease off on the road to Chilecito. The shorter and less intense stage will allow them to enjoy their majestic surroundings. The red earth tracks, overlooking steep peaks and plunging down into canyons, will take the Dakar through one of the most beautiful regions of Argentina. But no-one should be tempted to sit back and enjoy the view, particularly on the motorcycle and quad bike routes which include some gruelling sections. With thousands of stones to be avoided, it will only take one to ruin this magnificent day!

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Note the start time.

holy mother of god, I got up at 0400 for today's 0900 start and tomorrow's is at 0600? 8^0

maybe RG should ask for RS!

It will be a different stage altogether for the motorcycles and quads. They will be on a separate course up and over the top of the mountains.

bright eyed and bushy tailed

sleepy ass'd and I don't care to see Nasser start,my first thought's

Nasser? Who is nasser?

Use this stage to make up as many positions on course as possible to get a good start spot for stage 4.

Holy Moly! West coasters...might as well stay up...

Hell no, I'm sleeping in until the bikes start!

I know this is a super dumb question but I have to ask. The winner is becided by the lowest time, not the most special wins, yes? Honesty I'm not that nervous about the 4 hours behind. Its way to early to jump out the window!

Yes, lowest elapsed time to complete all stages, stage win's are for starting position the next day and bragging rights.
