STAGE 4 TRACKING
STAGE 4: SAN SALVADOR DE JUJUY > SAN SALVADOR DE JUJUY
Connection 201km | Special Stage 418km | Total 619km
COURSE OVERVIEW
Marathon 1: No Mechanics! On many levels, the competitors face their first real test here. The special section takes place at an average of 3,500m altitude, with incessant changes in pace resulting from alternating sandy and rocky terrain. This grueling route will be on the agenda when everyone already has 2,500km in the saddle or bucket seat, which is already exhausting for the lower placed drivers. First and foremost, this is the start of a very particular marathon stage, with a closed area for the vehicles... and for the competitors.
The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

I hate to see Tom Coronel out. Is his brother Tim still running?
yes,65th today
How much time has RG actually spent racing off-road with wet conditions? Guessing since he is in the South West he hasn't spent much time actually racing in these conditions, let alone this terrain in the wet. At least not compared to the WRC guys. Seems like WRC is always in wet and gravelly conditions.
Don't forget a few years back the rally was moved to Europe and it was wet
Oh yeah in the Hummer. He did rather well on that almost pure rally race if I remember correctly. Especially since he was driving a beast.
Still barely any experience compared to the WRC guys.
or racing a 8-9 hundred horse power Indy car in the rain.Rain, non issue. Now if we where talking motorcycle road racing , non dirt track SoCal guys suck, but we're not
Good point. Forgot about Indy as well.
WRC runs with AWD.
For all you "the sky is falling" types so far we have roads to follow.... stage 6 is open to navigation...this will separate the men from the boys.....RG & SC are moving up to take advantage of the open stages.....
It's a long rally, and I would be amazed if all the PUG's made it until the end. Did that ever even happen for VW?
Yes I understand that difference for the guys in the PUGs but they still know the conditions very well, and how to work the corners in these conditions. 4WD is not autopilot, especially in a WRC car.
