COURSE OVERVIEW
It was a painful experience for many competitors when they discovered the area last year. At the beginning of the special stage, the dunes follow one another, each one like the next, strung out in a never-ending desert capable of unsettling the best technical specialists. In the opposite direction, Stéphane Peterhansel and “Nani” Roma, both of whom are masters when it comes to crossing dunes, each lost almost fifteen minutes there, and risked missing out on the first two places of the overall standings. And the level of difficulty will be even more demanding this year! During the crucial stage of the first week, the rally will be even tougher for motorcyclists: they will quail on a 2-km slope, of which the gradient will put the descent of Iquique on a par with a gentle children’s slide.

Justice is served. Sainz overall time is now +18mins, the original time he had when he got lost during Stage 2.
What is estimated start time for the actual special?
@Rick, I'm think'n about the same as today
Robby looks like a man that took a step back....
This stage should give us a better idea of the "overall race" me thinks. A tough stage, with only a small chunk of dunes. If Robby does well here against the mini's, it should be good for his overall chances.
I just don't see the Buggly's being around at the end. doing well for a first year effort, but I have to think they are engineered more for a Baja 1000 or two instead of a Dakar. But with the funds, they could be the vehicles to beat in a couple of years.
Maybe if Robby spent more time on just driving instead of behaving like a spoilt child he would do better. This whole thing about them against us is ludicrous if you are going to arrive at an event like this with a bang and a big mouth make sure your powder is not slightly wet or in this case completely soaked or else you look like just another big mouthed american with both cowboy boots and the stetson in your mouth
must have lost your copy of 'how to influence people and win friends' eh?
