STAGE 4 TRACKING

STAGE 4: SAN JUAN > CHILECITO

Connection 211km | Special Stage 657km | Total 868km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The strategy of the motorcyclists will come into play: initially their navigational skills will be seriously tested at the beginning of the morning, and then they will be faced with the problem of worn tyres, as they have already been over-used the day before. As for the drivers of cars, they will have an even more demanding route to tackle in the countryside. The Dakar’s competitors haven’t faced a special stage this long since the historical one from Zouerat to Tichit in 2005! They will have to cross rivers, descend the canyons in a Wild West setting and beware of the other participants: as these terrains are often wide open, it will be entirely possible to overtake fellow competitors.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

you can lose time, as Robby did with the 'hub,cv thing'
Good morning all, again

Nani made it to WP7 arleady. Minis must be fine on the climb. Now let's see what the Gordini can do.

Nasser gained a lot of time on the field between Wp6 & 7. Robby hasn't shown yet.. let's see how he compares.

6,500 ft. climb between WP6 and WP7. They'll be at nearly 11,000 ft. at the summit of the stage.

HP Loss = (elevation x 0.03 x horsepower @ sea level)/1000

minus 104.94 HP @ 11000ft assuming that 318 HP to the wheels RG mentioned was at sea level (which it likely wasn't)

i think that robby got to the 2nd part of a stage late one year. once he started tracker showed true times but penalties wear added at the end for the time he was late but then again peter might have to follow different rules

Some significant time losses between 6-7 among the front 4

BJ looks to be running good today

Nasser is hauling the mail...almost 5 minutes added to Nova.

He grabbed a camels tail and burned its balls with a ciggerette.

Did chat go up and I not get the memo?

Lavieille was 9th at WP4 never showed at WP5 and is now 8th ahead of Robby at WP6
