STAGE 5 TRACKING

STAGE 5: COPIAPO > ANTOFAGASTA

Connection 239km | Special Stage 458km | Total 697km

COURSE OVERVIEW

This is the first of the rare special stages in which all categories will compete. At the start of the race, the most confident drivers will be able to take advantage of the fast tracks to try to move up in the overall standings. But the temptation to do so may be risky, particularly in the hard-to-handle fesh-fesh areas where absolute self-control is the only guarantee of success. Overtaking here requires precision handling to the extreme.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

i wish !

not anymore,it did many years ago

I did find it odd that the Dakar technology seems to go backwards from the good ole days when u could literally see where every car is not just when they reach cps. That was much more fun and there was no questioning if cars where moving or broken, more technology more money? But typically technology doesn't go back in time lol

The terrain legend is off the hook. Almost 10,000 feet. You could fly light aircraft all your life and not get that high!

Despite having one of his worst starts in recent dakar history, you have to love that RG is finally getting mentioned in nearly every update or post on Dakar's website. It's obvious that his popularity is growing by leaps and bounds down there and that the powers that be are finally starting to recognize, accept and dare I even say welcome him. If he can pull of a stage win or two, I'd still classify this campaign as a success and you know he'll keep going back year after year. Reminds me of the best fortune cookie I ever read... "Keep charging the enemy so long as there is life." Gas on RG!

That's a bad ass fortune cookie! Yeah I have noticed that too, and I'm done with the complaing....at this point here's where we stand we r in the Dakar what's happened has happened what's done is done he can't do all these things people wana recommend for making a better car, testing it is over. Let's go enjoy the rest of the Dakar! Gas on
Thank you

As long as he is racing the DAKAR it is on my bucket list....
