Jim Beam® Bourbon Leads Campaign for Robby Gordon

Sprint® Fan Vote Now Open For NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race

Deerfield, Ill. April 24, 2009 - Jim Beam®, proud sponsor of Robby Gordon, driver of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ No. 7 Jim Beam Toyota®, is reviving its popular “Vote for Robby” campaign and is encouraging fans to vote Gordon into the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race event on May 16 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Last year’s initiative resulted in Gordon coming in second to top vote-getter Kasey Kahne.

The 2009 grassroots campaign will kick-off during the Talladega race weekend. Jim Beam representatives will roam the famous infield, rousing fans to “Vote for Robby” distributing custom-designed “Vote for Robby” T-shirts and stickers. Jim Beam also will engage social media applications, Facebook® and Twitter™ along with placing web-banners on NASCAR.com. In addition, Jim Beam provides a link on its Web site, www.JimBeam.com, to the voting page on www.NASCAR.com where fans can select Gordon.

“The Sprint Fan Vote is an opportunity for fans to have a voice and this is Jim Beam’s opportunity to bring Robby’s story to the fans,” said Brian Gallagher, motorsports marketing manager, Jim Beam. “You can’t deny Robby’s dedication to his single-car team. He competes in a highly competitive environment dominated by multi-car operations every weekend. He represents the true character and grit found in the drivers who can be traced back to NASCAR's beginnings. Enlisting fans to vote Robby into the Sprint All-Star Race is something we look forward to supporting and celebrating.”

Gordon, celebrating his fifth season as a driver-owner in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, is tremendously appreciative of the support from Jim Beam and the fans.

“It’s great to be associated with such an enthusiastic sponsor,” said Gordon. “Last year we came in second after Jim Beam’s campaign which I was thrilled about. I hope race fans will take advantage of the fan vote, even if it’s not for me. It’s a great chance for them to get involved and NASCAR is all about the fans.

“Of course being a part of the Sprint All-Star Race would be quite an honor,” continued Gordon. “It has produced some thrilling races over the years and to be apart of that tradition would be really exciting.”

The NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race event showcases race winners from the previous and current NASCAR Sprint Cup Series seasons, plus the winner and runner-up of the Sprint Showdown. A final spot is given to the winner of the Sprint Fan Vote, providing the driver competes in the Sprint Showdown.

Unlimited voting is available to all fans through May 16. Sprint customers have the added benefit of receiving double credit for each wireless vote submitted from their Sprint device. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the Sprint Showdown.

Voting is available through the following channels:

On Sprint phones text “NASCAR” to 7777 and follow the received directions (standard text messaging and data rates apply)

luckily for Beam and RGM we started this weeks ago, else RG would be way behind in voting by now.
It's cool that Jim Beam is doing this again this year! They are an outstanding sponsor, plus I really enjoy their Bourbon. Is NAPA doing the same for Waltrip??
NAPA is called CRAPA on PLANETROBBY Kevin........or it should be.
No pluging Mikey sponsors here. LOL
Let's just go out and win the race Sunday and make it a mute point!
So any word on when us folk who aren't at Talladega can pick up some Vote For Robby gear?? ;)
ebay probably, or you can enter the weekly contest located in the contest crew, hopefully I can get a few vote for robby shirts and decals to give away as prizes.
Sweet I'd love to sport some of that
I met Fred Nee yesterday, and thanked him! Fred Nee, the CEO of Jim Beam, was signing autographs as part of a fundraiser for the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund at the Fire Department Instructors Conference, in Indianapolis. Terry Farrell was an FDNY FF killed on 9/11.

I made sure that I thanked him, not only for Jim Beam sponsoring the Farrell Fund, but for also sponsoring Robby Gordon. I told him about Robby's connection to the FDNY (driving the RCR #31 FDNY car in 2003), and how that pushed me towards becoming a RG Fan.

We actually had a nice, but short, chat. He seamed genuinely pleased that I had acknowledged and mentioned his RG sponsorship, and the JB girls helping talked about what a "great guy" Robby is. I bought a Jim Beam / Farrell Fund tee-shirt, and Mr. Nee signed it for me. Now I've gotta get Robby to sign it either The Glen or at Dover later this year.
Thats pretty sweet. Maybe JB will do the Terry Farrell car with RG at the Glen? It'd be pretty cool to see him run an FDNY spirited car again, & thats a great cause. Plus it brought some pretty good luck with it, back in '03
Leary Firefighter Fund would be another cool one.
