It would be great to see her do well, but she's riding her reputation and public image into this, not talent. Good fit for JR motorsports in that regard.
Yup. Her average finish last season was barely in the top ten (9.6), in car fields that hovered around 20. And she did this with one of the only three big money teams in the sport. That would be like averaging a 20th place finish in Cup while driving for a powerhouse like Hendrick Motorsports.
A full season, & in the top 20? Look at some of the other open-wheelers that have come over. Not quite that easy. Maybe if you put her in the 48 car.... Otherwise, a good example is JPM. Ol' Scarface is really just starting to show what he's capable of this season...& he's had fenders for how long now?
Danica's a talented driver. Matter of fact, anyone who's racing in the top tier of their sport is plenty talented. I mean, corret me if I'm wrong but if she's in the top half of the field of the best 20 drivers in the sport. Doesn't that kinda put her in the top 10 active Indy drivers? Which is top of American open wheel racing....ya she must be a no-talent hack.
She'll do well, if she sticks with it for a couple seasons.
I'm glad my analogy didn't escape you. Otherwise, you must mean Nationwide. So yeah. Give her a full season in Nationwide, where there aren't 20 full time team/drivers and she'll finish top 20. She'll do okay in Hendrick equipment there. Should be the next Landon Cassel. But in Cup?
Plenty of people have sucked in HMS equipment before. She won't be the first.

Yes, no talent. She's finished no better than 5th in the standings in a league in which she has superior equipment and in which the league openly wants her to win. She also has won one race; one in which half the field was racing elsewhere. So yeah, MOST OVERRATED UNDERTALENTED DRIVER EVER.
Anybody that watches the series with no predetermined bias knows that AGR was a championship caliber team, until their focus went away from Dario and Kanaan and to Danica.
Now that they put their eggs in that basket, the team has faltered. The stats don't lie, if people are really willing to look at what the stats are. people aruging top tens for a series that has struggled for 20 cars most of her career, is entertaining. Anyone trying to pimp her as one of the ten best OW drivers because of her current status in that field where unquestionably superior talents like Bruno, Servia and PT are on the sidelines due the state of the sport really have no business even discussing the topic.
Nothing Danica has done in her entire racing career has shown her to be on par with the likes of Dale Jr in regards to racing talent. She is a sponsors wet dream, no different than the likes of Sadler and Waltrip. Where mediocre at best is good enough, if you can make the commercials and do the interviews.
