Too bad Robby didn't sign her - she would be worth the investment in merchandise revenues alone (kinda like Junior)! And then RGM would have a 7 in NW and a 7 in cup! Oh well... should be interesting to see how she does; she certainly will increase viewers for the NW series races!
RGM couldn't afford her. A recent report claimed she wanted $300,000 per race for her to drive in any of the NASCAR series. Between Jr. and Rick they can probably afford it, and recoup some on the merchendise licensing and sponsorship, but that's probably one of the very few teams who could afford her.
The true bright spot in this, is that maybe AGR will finally cut ties with her and put a quality driver in that seat. Try to revive the team. Servia, Bruno, PT, Buddy Rice....the list goes on and on of drivers far more talented than she is, who may actually be able to do something with that ride.
Not saying Danica's all great and wonderful, but she did have the most successful season at AGR. She gets talked about as though she's frickin' Milka Dunno though and she's holding the team back. That I don't buy.
Three years together in the same equipment for 51 starts
Kanaan 6 wins. Danica 1 win.
Kanaan 28 top fives. Danica 12
Kanaan 38 top tens. 31.
And yes, in 2009 she finally finishes ahead of him by seven points and Marco by 13.
So how anyone can possibly think that in their time together at AGR that Kanaan has not been more successful is just beyond absurd.
And yes, the team as a whole was holding their own fine against Penske/Ganssi prior to the full time arrival of Danica and Marco. As the team has moved to make those two drivers their priority the team has floundered.
