The race was actually pretty entertaining.....except for the fact that Jimmie Johnson got a lucky break.. again. Also, Robby's car was horrible. He didn't sound happy over the radio either calling his car "a peice of s---" several times.

i think I saw you in the stands on TV..lol.....Glad you didnt get rained out.
cool you were able to see the race Live. i listened to the scanner all race too. They were trying everything, and didnt give up one lap.

were you able to see the whole track from your seats.
I sat right on the end of the stands (literally right next to the fence) in turn 4 on the very top of the lower section of stands. They are great seats! I can see the whole track, however in turn 2, which is directly across from me, binoculars are best.
I have always thought that California speedway is the most boring track on the entire cicuit but I live 30 minutes away and have to go! Last year I went to Las Vegas the following week and the view and the action was incredible!!You can see the whole track so much better than in in Cali. It was he best cup race I have been to in my life! Besides going to all of the California races since 1999, Brickyard 2006 was the only other race and Vegas was sooo much better.
I'm in the same boat with Pocono....just down the road a couple of hours, but what a sh!++y track to watch a race at. Just because it's a unique track doesn't mean the racing is exciting for two races a year, let alone one. They could at least shorten both races to 400 miles to make it tolerable.
it will be better this year because they can shift again.
Yeah we all saw you.. How many were there? 50 or 60 people?
Check out the stands here and make your guess....this is right before the start/finish line

Gillian Zucker article about the small crowds. For the people that were there, was 55,000 a correct figure ??
This was Fontanas next to last chance to fill the seats. I imagine they will get 1 race next year.

That article is just crap....I remember when it was sold out! Lower the tickets prices to get fans in the seats if it is the economy.... let them buy merchandise, food, beverages, etc.....get the fans involved....for every seat that is empty, that is one less shirt, hot dog, hamburger, pepsi, or beer that is sold....business is business.....but the fans are your clients!!! No fans, no race, no $$$$
How lower than free tickets do you want to go? One of my tickets was free for buying my groceries where I always shop at Staters, another ticket was 53.00 and that got me my free pit pass, a 20.00 donation to Loma Linda Children's hospital deal. I was in the stands before the start finish and did not have any room to put my bag and purse on a seat due to people on either side, above and below me. They did not leave till I left when Jimmie won. There was also a continual line for the womens bathroom.
Yes that is about right on the crowd figure I have been to all of the nascar races at Fontana and this is a good number. You can get in and out pretty easy as well as to the pits and trucks without getting bumped into non stop like it was when it was a sell out.
