Just a thought or two. Why does the United States not send it's best and brightest to this event? Robby should be in this event every year. Germany sends Michael Shumacher and Sebastian Vettel. England sends Jenson Button. America sends a converted dirt biker (Travis Pastrana) and a formula drift champion ( Tanner Foust). Now, don't get me wrong, I like both of these guys but it seems we are not up to snuff. 2 years after Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon took their ball and went home crying, no one will go over there. If you ask me it should be Robby Gordon and Tony Stewart EVERY year. These are the two most naturally talented drivers from the States who have proven time and again that they will find success in any vehicle. Anyone know why Robby hasn't been back since 2001?

Still, don't you think Robby could drive circles around both of them?
Robby was the first American in the ROC back in 2000 or 2001, when it was still held in Canarias. Last year Carl edwards was the NASCAR driver present and he actually beat Schumacher and knock him out of the event.

carl must not have gotten a copy of the team orders
wait a minut
uncooth americans cannot read!!!!!!
And here's another funny video from 2002 or 2003, the first year Jeff Gordon went to the event. He was a passenger on Marcus Gronholm Peugeot WRC, when they rolled over.

Robby was in the 2001 ROC in Gran Canaria, Spain. He became the first American driver to reach the quarterfinals.

ah, the RCR Rockwell uniform. Biffle spun Robby as he was entering the pits at Watkins Glen ,2001, in the BGN race.Still finished 5th. I know, unrelated to this topic, but the uniform brought me a flashback.
Couldn't have worn the Lowes Uni that one had Skinners name on it!
While we are fantasizing that Robby runs ROC. Here some more. As NACRAP is over and Speed channel is finally showing some real racing like DTM, BTCC and Super V8, it got me thinking. Jim Beam sponsor two car team in Super V8. They should have Robby come is as guest driver for one of the races. It will be sweet to see him wheel banging with the aussie in 650hp stock car that is actually fun to drive on a road corse. Maybe he gets invited for Bathust 1000. Yum!
I would love to see Robby race the V8 Supercars enduros at Bathurst and Philip Island (2 drivers per car), but those cars are way too dificult to adapt just for a one off. All of the drivers that go there from other racing series never get good results. But it would be cool to see him trying to thame the Mountain.
Yeah that would be awesome, I know last year Boris Said ran in the Bathurst race, but I don't think he did very well. Robby would have a much better chance....
How about this; RG wins The Dakar Rally this year. Then who cares.
I like the way you think.....
