Larry Carter is with the team now, and will assume the duties of Crew Chief. Iain Watt will still be with the team as an engineer.

Robby struggles soo much at track like Las Vegas; I know that hiring Larry as a consultant will help Robby’s performance at all the cookie cutter tracks in the long run. I just hope that Larry can continue to help Robby after he moves on as the Sprint Cup director.

How do you figure? Iain was Crew Chief this morning, and still is now. Carter is consulting, and will help Iain this weekend and maybe into the future. And Lipo is the Car chief. 1 crew chief, 1 consultant, 1 car chief. Not counting Robby, of course.
this is a very good thing. He steps in and is already the best crew chief RGM has had. Rusty Wallace thought the world of Larry.
wow. coming in late and reading this thread was a roller coaster ride.

spin the crew chief wheel and throw the dart!
So Larry only last a couple of hours? That may be a record!
Who cares... What does the car chief know. And what will RG take from that. Next. LOL
Could've been refering to the CC for the 7 @ the last Vegas race.....Kirk?
Nobody has called the shots for Robby longer than Robby has.
Too lazy to look this up, but I'm sure someone can answer this. Since he branched out on his own in 2005, how many crew chiefs has Robby gone through? I lost count after I think four.

I think it's a great match-up. Larry has worked with some talented drivers. He has a ton of knowledge.
