Major penalty coming for the #38? bleeder valves found on the tires

Read this over at jayski's.  It sounds like the #38 could have a 200 point $200,000 penalty coming and could put Robby back in the Top 35!!!

Illegal bleeder valves on the #38 at Pocono? Sources tell Sirius that NASCAR discovered clandestine [secrecy or concealed] air pressure bleeder valves on the tires of Travis Kvapil's #38 Front Row Motorsports Ford Sunday at Pocono Raceway. Following the rain delay, NASCAR officials reportedly observed two soft tires on the rear of Kvapil's car and held him from rolling back onto the track for the start of the race. Closer examination of those tire and wheel assemblies allegedly revealed illegal bleeder valves, which purge excess air pressure from the tires as it accumulates under race conditions. If confirmed, the team would likely face a major NASCAR penalty, since tires are considered to be one of the sanctions "untouchable" items, along with engines and fuel.(Sirius Speedway)(6-8-2010)

Exactly. Great to be optimistic. Silly to assume.
Hey Gray---please tell us what you really think. You are one of the strangest fans that I've ever run across. It almost appears that you're actually not a fan but that can't be so---you're always on here pointing out the negative in the hopes of helping the team improve---I guess?

Gray---when he has a top 3 somewhere---what will you say. Wait let me take a swing at it====Good finish but it was only because of a wreck on lap 3 and the sun getting in JPM's eyes and that if Paul Tracy had a cup ride he would have finished ahead of Robby
GAM is a bit of a contrarian (thus, the anti-matter I assume), but I enjoy his posts. They are usually well though out and frequently cover a point of view I've not considered.
Yes , but the guy is repeatedly bashed for stating his opinion, mostly because he says things that some don't want to hear . I too enjoy his posts .
Gray makes some good points based on fact.

OMG. I can't believe I said that. Gray, you owe me a Coke.
See , that didn't hurt , now did it ? LOL I'll take points being made based on fact over those based on rumor and speculation , and plain old wishful thinking , any day.
He usually makes good points. I think some of you are just creeped out by the unibomber thing. lol
Well, there was a joke/issue on Facebook/Myspace that required a profile picture change. I suppose I can put that same picture up here!
Be careful what you wish for I guess. I think I want the unibomber back!
And to think, they were taken only about a month apart.....
Fair enough. I'm a fan. I've been a fan for what seems to be a long time. What I have an issue with around these parts are some of the assumptions made prior to races.

Its odd around here to watch people get so damn high for just a very few events each season. Dakar, Baja 500, Cup @ Sears Point, Cup @ Watkins Glen and Baja 1000. I'm all for being excited and presuming a good showing. What's amazing is watching people assuming a win prior to the race, being so high its amazing. And then when the race happens, and racing circumstance happens (blown transmission? unfortunate timing on a caution?) people here get beside themselves. It's kind of awesome to watch. There's absolutely no reason for any fan of any driver to assume a win in any race these days. Even in the pitiful excuse for open wheel racing you can't assume Dario will win, since Will Power and Scott Dixon and Ryan Briscoe actually do have a chance. I can't assume Larry Dixon will win and NHRA Top Fuel event, because Tony Schumacher is there. Maybe a few years ago you could assume Schumacher would win F1 races, but thats the closest to a sure thing I think there has been for awhile. Maybe Audi at Le Mans?

I suppose you could Indy to the list since so many people think he could walk in on bump day with a shitty ass third tier team and still win, even though there is no chance in hell he (or anyone) could.

Next time RG gets a top three, I'll be sure to give my honest opinion if that top three was something backed into due to rain like at Charlotte last year, or if it was a bad ass run through the field kicking ass and taking names. And yes, there is a difference. One sparks hope for next week, and the other makes you shrug and say sometimes its just better to be lucky than good.

But yeah, I'm odd. I can live with that.
And I guess if you want to expand on that, another assumption that seems to be floating around the last 24 hours or so, is that RG has no chance at all of falling back out of the top 35, which is just silly. Of course it could happen, he didn't magically get a 500 point cushion....
