NASCAR has suspended a Sprint Cup driver under terms of its substance abuse policy - immediately and indefinitely - in advance of Saturday nightís race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway, ThatsRacin.com and The Charlotte Observer have learned.

Sources said the driver, who has not been identified by officials, was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 7-5 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the 2009 NASCAR rule book. The determination was based on findings at last weekendís race at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.

NASCAR on Saturday declined to discuss the matter, saying that questions would be dealt with in a news conference at the South Carolina track on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Such a suspension would be the first under NASCARís drug policies for a driver at the top level, the Spring Cup Series.

What I dont understand is why is the team being sold off if he is so innocent?
where did it say Crystal Meth? I saw methamphetamine, which may or may not mean straight meth. I never saw crystal meth?
Does this mean we'll see Jeremy "hooking" in the Men's bathroom stalls in 5 years? LOL!
we will probably see him first on the tv show Intervention. That way Shana can get some more tv time. OT Whatever happened to that Nascar wifes reality show?
This might explain kyles wild nature and the bashing of the guitar. HA
oh, I didnt know this was old, ha...i thought someone else had been.....
Perhaps if you worked in/with Nascar, you would give them a bit more credit. They have their stupid moments, but they are hardly dumb-fks

In a humorous note, Chad Littles Hauler driver (when he was with Bace in 2002) told me Mayfield was a druggie, and to call him Opie because he hated it. It was a nickname from the days he ran the RCA car for Cal Yarboroughs team. Very interesting looking back on it...
I totally understand.....they take their urine samples from the troughs in the men's room at th track then pick a name out of hat and attach it as that drivers sample...lol
This is what the web has to say about Adderall XR the perscription medicine that JM was taking: "Adderall, a “cocktail” mixture of four different amphetamine salts, was first developed about 20 years ago and marketed under the name Obetrol for weight loss and diet control. In 1996 the FDA approved Adderall for unrestricted use for treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder and Adderall is quickly becoming a physician favorite for the treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder in children." Note the word AMPHETAMINE. Plus, Alan posted this about Claritan-D, "...pseudoephedrine can be used to make methamphetamine...". So we will need to wait until the biochemists testify in this case. But as JM is being treated for ADDI and this is covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act, I wonder if he has a Discrimination Case against NASCAR? Stay tuned this case could go to the Supreme Court if JM has the money or some smart lawyer wants to make a bundle and does it on contingency.
Also the reason when you go to the Pharmacy like CVS or Costco that you have to request Claritin-D because Kids use it to make Meth, and not putting it on the shelves makes it harder for kids to make Meth.
Yea, but I still would give it a good chance that he did straight meth....
