NASCAR has suspended a Sprint Cup driver under terms of its substance abuse policy - immediately and indefinitely - in advance of Saturday nightís race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway, ThatsRacin.com and The Charlotte Observer have learned.

Sources said the driver, who has not been identified by officials, was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 7-5 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the 2009 NASCAR rule book. The determination was based on findings at last weekendís race at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.

NASCAR on Saturday declined to discuss the matter, saying that questions would be dealt with in a news conference at the South Carolina track on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Such a suspension would be the first under NASCARís drug policies for a driver at the top level, the Spring Cup Series.

I bet she is a real piece if work.
A quote from JM "I don't trust anything NASCAR does, anything Dr. David Black does, never have, never will," Mayfield told The Associated Press in a phone interview. Black is the administrator for NASCAR's drug-testing program.

"And they picked the wrong woman to use against me because that [expletive] is trash and has got nothing on me but lies."

Hey, Jeremy! Is that Methamphetamine you're taking??

Oh, Yeah!
couldn't resist...lol
I'm surprised he let his step-mom in the car!
Stepmom:

Hey, Jeremy, Is that Crankser 87 you are wearing (in your nose)?

Jeremy:

Oh, Yeah
i heard about the interview and jm sounds very legit about his filming and the proof of taking drug tests that are coming back negative! whoever posted the link about tim richmond, that was something that was disturbing. i know tim was very ill, but that is just f'd up to screw him like that because of his illness. tim richmond was my childhood favorite from getting to know him a little bit in the garage when i was like 5 when my parents friend raced busch/grand national i guess!

looking at the comments on espn, it looks like somebody very close to the situation knows some his stuff with jm and posted some info. thought i'd just copy and paste for the ones that haven't seen it. looks like jm is getting screwed all the time by nascar, aegis, and his stepmom, but his proof might be enough to set the record straight that he is clean.

"OK, to every person in this thread who really believes that Nascar is correct and that Mayfield really is guilty, it is you who needs to have a drug test!

Let me clue you all in. Jeremy has been tested every 2-5 days since the initial controversy in May. He has been tested at multiple labs but primarily Labcorp. Every single test to date has come back negative.

Yes, Nascar has the right to test Mayfield at any time. However, Jeremy was in another town in a meeting with a potential sponsor when he got the call regarding the test. After speaking to his attorney, he finished his meeting and then went to take the test. Pretty much the timeline follows as NASCAR states in their court filing. Jeremy could not find the location of NASCAR's lab and they told him to go home and wait for a mobile tech to arrive. Jeremy did this.
When they arrived, they told mayfield that they would have to directly view him urinating into the bottle. Jeremy, felt that wasnt necessary and refused. he spoke with his lawyer and then after about an hour (because of the dealings with the lawyer) agreed reluctantly to let the tech visually watch him pee.
Personally, I understand him not wanting the guy to watch him. If he stood behind jeremy that would have been OK but I'd be damned if I had to drop my pants, and lift up my shirt and took a #### while some guy stared at ####! I dont care how professional you are that is totally un called for! ........

Earlier in the day, between the time he was told to head home and the arrival of the tech his attorney had him submit a sample at Labcorp and then immediately after the Nascar test, he reported to Labcorp again for another test. The second test was conducted and has been confirmed NEGATIVE. The earlier sample has not yet been tested. The negative sample has since been resubmitted for reconfirmation.

Now, tell me, If a test result usually takes no more than 24-48 hours to process, why in the world did it take Aegis Labs and Nascar NINE DAYS to come up with a "Positive"?
Does anyone really think that NASCAR, Aegis, Dr. Black, et al. are going to somehow allow a negative test result for someone who is suing them? If you say NO then you would be correct.

It doesnt make sense to have the lab that is a defendant in the case do the testing. They can't do it objectively.

Mayfield and his attorney want the B sample to go to Labcorp. They are not on Nascar's list of "approved" labs... basically they aren't on their payroll so they object. The dispute over the location of the independent lab is the only reason the B sample hasnt been tested yet. its not that they dont want it to be tested, but that they want it at a location of their choosing which is their legal right. Nascar does not have the legal right to prevent the test and that will be proven in the courts.
As for Mayfields STEP MOM.......

well, lets just put it this way, As Jeremy said, she is a gold digger. She has been after him for years, they were never close, never traveled together as she claims. She has maid numerous attempts to get money from him in the past and he has fought her on it.
It is obvious that either NASCAR has paid her money to provide the affidavit or she offered it in spite of Jeremy.
Jeremy has stated that his side will be filing a worngful death suit against her over the death of his father. I for one hope that he does indeed file suit and wins that as well.
Her past is highly questionable. I will not go into detail of all the crap she has pulled but its obvious that her affidavit is all lies and will likely be ignored by the court.

When jeremy's side files the paperwork for all the negative tests he has taken, the Aegis labs, Dr. Black, and Nascar are going to look like complete idiots."
People need to get over this. He's guilty. Move on.
i'm with you on this one.............he's done..........he needs help..............i'm moving on.
He's guilty because the defendant in the civil case tested him positive? Don't you think the defendants have an inherent conflict of interest? Why wouldn't they deem him positive? That's like asking a drunk driver to administer his/her own sobriety test. You CAN'T let the defendant in the civil case run the test. If NACRAP got an independent third party lab, the results would be much more credible. Heck if they really wanted to nail his ass, they should call in the anti-doping people that carry out tests for the Tour de France.

If the defendants in the civil case didn't have a positive result this time and every time they tested him, they would stand to lose millions of dollars because Mayfield would win his case or settle out of court.
@Jeff, since you know the science behind this stuff, would a blood test show things more or less accurately than a urine test? And wouldn't it be easier to prove that a blood test was Mayfields, and it hadn't been diluted?
what about hair testing?
