RG is not a start and park if he was, why did he have David in the car at Richmond and not just skip the race? There were several problems caused by the parts failure today and putting a new one in cost money plus he wouldnt have gained that may points. I dont even know if he would have gained a position at all.
I agree with you Nena, Martinsville doesn't have the high attrition rate like it used. From the sounds of things, RG broke a driveline which also damaged the rear end gear and the transmission tail shaft. Thats a long and costly repair which would most likely put him well over 100 laps down. That would be alot of money out for no gain.
It was the oil tank not cooler. The same type of tank that the 99 had a problem keeping the cover on in the car at Vegas last year. When the rear end blew a bunch of stuff came loose. It punctured the tank "high up near the strap" "It's gonna be real tough to fix that" That plus the rear, plus the axles, plus the u joints etc would have take forever.
if rob is still banged up from his off road accident, it was probably a good call to just call it a day.
The 84 was running great, in the top 15, then later in the race, he hit the wall, so points-wise, it wasn't that bad of a day although the 34 is gaining a lot.
He better watch out though.....and run alll the laps he can, or it will cost him the top 35, hes getting closer. No I watch JS every week, one time this year he said pick 7 if your going for the first caution. He dont like him.
