My Apologies because TOG is right about posting unrelated posts to racing

My Apologies because TOG is right about posting unrelated posts to racing, Dakar & Robby Gordon site. While reading the news of the shooting came over my screen, I got a call from my daughter who's home from school telling me about the catastrophe in Newtown CT. I live less than 10 minutes from the school and have my sister in-law that live less than a mile away. I was so shocked I share my shock here. It's not the place to do this and for that, I'm sorry. This is not being posted in a spiteful way, I just thought I should explain. I will however say that you never think it will happen in your neighborhood or town, but it can and did to me. If just during this holiday season, give your kids, spouse or friends an extra hug or kiss just for returning home safely! Some will regret not doing this this morning.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to my friends here on the planet....

I'm just glad your doing better bud that's ALL that really matters . Racing is racing this tragedy is far more important in the grand scheme of things .

I was trying to relate that or convey that racing is fun, but family is what's really important! Like spending time with family that's gone by dressing up there grave....;)

I hear ya bud :~)
no apologies necessary.
It's a very TRAGIC event that happened in your area and to all involved.
Mike

We are waiting to hear who's been lost. It's such a shock to the town....the people are in shock.

No need to apologize, just that it deserved it's own thread and not in the Dakar thread. Anyone who has been here for a long time knows I try to keep the posts within the thread relevant to the topic of said thread.

I thought it best being all the reply's were gone. It's a big deal in my world...kinda puts things in perspective. 2 women in our little area adopted the cutest kid...they haven't been seen since and we're unsure if they are involved. It's very bad.

Lets pray for the best :~)

My heart goes out to your community Dave. My words cannot express how I mourn due to the disturbing events of today. I'm glad you and yours are safe this evening.

I am glad you are ok Dave and hope those that you know are safe. My heart also goes out to the whole community. It is something that you never expect to happen in your community.

CBS News doing a special report right now

It definitely puts your mind to priorities in life. I had a similar but thankfully not so similar experience this week. My Mom works at Cal State University Fullerton which was locked down this week when a gunman ran into one of the buildings after shooting a jewelry store owner and leading cops on a high speed chase. I live about 10 miles from CSUF and graduated from there many moons ago. We were fortunate that nobody was injured, but the anxiety of not knowing if a loved one is safe or not... extra hugs and kisses to the loved ones for sure, today and everyday.
