My Apologies because TOG is right about posting unrelated posts to racing

My Apologies because TOG is right about posting unrelated posts to racing, Dakar & Robby Gordon site. While reading the news of the shooting came over my screen, I got a call from my daughter who's home from school telling me about the catastrophe in Newtown CT. I live less than 10 minutes from the school and have my sister in-law that live less than a mile away. I was so shocked I share my shock here. It's not the place to do this and for that, I'm sorry. This is not being posted in a spiteful way, I just thought I should explain. I will however say that you never think it will happen in your neighborhood or town, but it can and did to me. If just during this holiday season, give your kids, spouse or friends an extra hug or kiss just for returning home safely! Some will regret not doing this this morning.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to my friends here on the planet....

I just keep asking myself why does it take tragedies like this for us to get our heads outta our asses and realize just how short and precious life TRUELY is . Dave referred to dressing up a family members grave , well he was referring to me . My mother and I put a Christmas wreath on my grandparents grave every yr . Today Unfortunately (although my grandparents died of old age ) those families are gonna be doing the same thing . Gone are all their festive Christmases gone are their loved ones and for what cause some psycho had mommy issues . I'm sorry for the rant and if this doesn't make sense , but I guess that's is my point NONE OF IT MAKES SENSE . All I can say is PLEASE HUG AND KISS YOUR LOVED ONES NOT JUST CAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENED TODAY BUT BECAUSE THEY ARE PRECIOUS AND WE NEED TO THANK GOD WE HAVE THEM !

Just glad to hear everything is good Dave....Happy Holidays to you as well...

I live about 15 minutes away from the school and I was in shock too. Never could imagine such a thing would happen in our community

This is just the saddest day ever. Driving thru town on my way home I passed 4 houses with police cars in front. The police cruiser at each home that lost someone. It's also a media circus with with reporters and giant dishes...

Media piranha now , the main story is done so we'll just milk the hell out of the victims . Good for the cops being there to shoo them away .

No one knows how to make sense out of something like this, because you can't. I sincerely hope that the folks of Newtown are able to find peace and recover eventually. It's doubly sad that it happened during the Christmas season. We had a similar but somewhat less tragic event happen here last Tuesday in a shopping mall. Less tragic only in the fact that two were killed, not twenty six. Hardly a comfort. Merry Christmas Dave and may God bless.

Hope and pray everthing is OK for you, had two crazy things like this happen to my family in the past and lost loved ones (and hope this don't sound cold) but after time you learn to go on with life until something like this brings it all back again, as I said life goes on............
