Largest penalty since Robby Gordon's 150,000.00 fine. Kill the little guy. Will they tell us how big the infraction was? It sure did not help him.
NASCAR hands Carl Long and crew chief record penalties $200,000.00 and 12 Races?

As I posted in another post, Nascar likes to make examples out of the small teams so they don't have to make one of Jimmy Johnson and Chad Knaus! Lets just set out Chad for a few races and let Jimmy win another championship. Thats like having Clinton as our president! Instead lets put a small team out of business and take their house and company while we are at it! We need more money because our ratings are down 10%. We need to fill our greedy pockets. Also if Mayfield is guilty why won't they release what he tested positive for? Mayfield gave them permission to release it because he told that he didnt even know. HHHMMMMMMMMM? Thats why I pull for Robby because I can happily watch him race in other series. So if nascar goes away because they are to greedy and God wants to take them out! I am all for that! I say everyone writes to nascar and voice their opinion. That would be on all message boards and sirius nascar radio, "If the host dosnt just so happen to loose your call for some reason as soon as you question nascar" Seems to only happen when someone is disagreeing! HHHHHMMMMMMMMMM? I say we Rallied for Robby! Now lets Rallie for Carl Long!
It was the last sentence - "NASCAR discovered an issue and sent the engine to the Research & Development Center for more tests, which determined the engine exceeded maximum cubic inch displacement specifications.
200000 fine YIKES, those guys are done.
The owners standings have car owner Danielle Long with only 47 owners points. Not sure if that is before or after the 200 point penalty.
Before
Gee, how much bigger was that motor, a couple cylinders worth?
But Michael Waltrip has jet fuel additives in his car and only gets 100 points and $100,000?
From Carl Long's website:

Yes!! This has absolutely been the worse day for us as well!! We purchased a motor at the beginning of the season. After the motor blew in practice for the showdown, nascar took it and tore it down. There are NO illegal parts in our engine but the combination of the parts do not meet nascars specs. We would like to go in detail about everything that has happened over the past few days but we are planning to appeal and the less that is said the better off we will be. We need your support now more than ever!!

DeeDee & Carl

$200K is nearly 10 times his race winnings this year. They could lose their house, construction business... This is one way to clamp down on the start and park teams.
Absolutely ridiculous. It wasn't even a points race anyway.
Penalize him 200 points in a no-point event (pun intended). Long's piece of the Showdown purse was only $5,000, or 2.5% of the fine. Maybe NASCAR will shoot his dog too.
I absolutely love watching racing, and Nascar racing. But The France family, Mike Helton, Jim Hunter, Robin Pemberton, Ramsey Poston and the rest of the head honchos at Nascar can go straight to Hell! This fine is absolute Bull-Shit
