Everytime you think you have seen it all, along comes Nazicar!!!!
I'd like to hear more details of the infraction. On the one hand, if the engine doesn't meet the specs then a penalty is warranted. On the other hand, if it was a purchased engine that happened to have an unfortunate combinsation of ligitimate parts that put it slightly over the line, then maybe a bit of lienency is in order.

But I'll be very surprised if NASCAR is at all open with any details. It'd be nice if some other car owners steped up and voiced thier support for the little guy.
i agree, if it wasn't of their own doing, then the penalty shouldn't be that harsh
more junk food money to fill heltons fat tummy
but if it wasn't their own doing, i don't think they should be treated that harsh.
It wasn't like it was a safety issue. How about they fine themselves for the Talladega fence!
that chain link fence saved hundereds of injuries and probably several lives...
but some people still got injured
thats the chance you take
As a fan? No. How is NASCAR going to hold Carl Long to such a high standard whereas with their fencing they decide to "get around to it" after someone breaks their jaw and has to spend 4 days in the hospital?
All I meant was that as a NASCAR fan or any other sports fan, there is always a chance you can get injured at a sporting event. Thats what I mean by that's the chance you take. In Carl longs case, if someone else builds his engines, and all his team does is put them in the racecar, than this shouldn't be deemed as his fault.
I forgot about it not even being a points race, what a crock! Got to feel bad for this team, they are probably not in the series enough to know every minor variation of how these cars and motors are put together, or some of the pitfalls involved with purchasing equipment. Unfortunately, the money is the real issue, not the points, and if I remember correctly they gave Robby back his points, but fined him more money after the appeal, right?
