"Finding itself under political pressure from Nancy Pelosi, Ed Markey, and Al Gore, NASCAR has just unveiled a prototype new "Car After Tomorrow". Roger Penske has produced the first new "CAT" which is expected to debut at Daytona in 2011. This car was spotted in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan at the new manufacturer's North American HQ."

I think a few here still maintain a sense of humor ;)

the daytona 500 has been shortend to 1 lap due to the new car
And no more bump-drafting LOL!
AND, because thgese cars are so small, there will be 72 cars in the starting lineup!!!!!
there will be a pit stop on the back stretch where yuou can get a new car before turn 3
That is funny.

You know, don't you, that Roger Penske has sole distribution and maintenance rights to Smart cars in the U.S.?
Yep... one reason why he's still with DODGE IMO.
That deal's still pending, but seems certain. He get's the brand and the dealership network (and service). GM keeps making the cars for 2 years, then Roger needs to have someone else build cars for him. The Smart car may play into that some.
What does Dodge and Saturn have to do with Smart cars? I thought they were built by Mercedes.
At the time, DAIMLER still had an interest in CHRYSLER. It's a convenient coincidence that at a time (2 years ago?) when PENSKE was looking at possibly leaving DODGE, DAIMLER offers PENSKE an exclusive on the SMART Car. Shortly thereafter he re-signed with DODGE and remains with them even though they are unsure of their future.

That's what is has to do with it. If I've forgotten anything or confused the facts a little, the Internet Police will be along shortly to make any necessary corrections.
wow this thing is small !! a smart car?
