Well..Nasser is Done!!! He is one Hell of a Driver, however he has Kurt Busch Attitude. He should have just put another belt on the hummer and savaged a top 10 overall Dakar finish. I am pretty disappointed in his attitude and his comments towards Team Speed. However, it sounds like RG is done with Nasser as well..
I respect his driving abilities and the excited he brought to Dakar 2012, however he can take his oil money and attitude back to where he came from…He is quitter in my book and I hope his equipment fails during the Olympics.
What do you think?
P.S. I am curious to what Cruz thinks?

I dig Nasser, didn't know much about him till this year, but seems like a good guy! So he drove RG's sh*t like a rental car..that's all it was. Didn't dig the little smurk/giggle about coming back in a hummer but...when your plans are already dialed in for the next year and your sitting broke down in the middle of BFE..sometime's that'll do it. That's a couple big personalities on a small team.
He's a past champion. He's entitled to be a bit arrogent, and he did drive hard. I like Robby but am old enough to remember him driving for A.J Foyt and wrecking so many cars He basically caused A.J to retire.
I think Nasser is a brilliant driver, he took to the car from the word GO and managed to get the most out it, even more than RG could. I don’t think it’s fair to judge him badly since we all are not there to get first had view of the situation. As far as the belt issue, I think the mechanics should have sorted it on the rest day. It’s belt for Christ Sake, these things should not fail.. period. Oh, and for the people that think he should have continued. I’m sure he would have if he had a spare belt (they don’t carry 5 spares) and if the pulleys where lined up (Which obviously they were not). The mechanics should have seen this during the nightly rebuild. As far as Nasser being hard on his equipment. Every true race drive is! That is Nasser’s specialty, driving, not fixing…
I’m also sure that he had a blast driving the Hummer knowing that he could blow by the Minis at will and he was going to every inch (and then some)of wheel travel to win the race.
Just don’t judge the guy before you really know him.
Fair enough..
Well Mr Cardenas, how about your little write up here? Youre missing a couple points here. That belt came off the maximum nr of spares in the car: 3 times. Obviously theres a reason those belts got destroyed in such a short order. Maybe some damage or alignment issues to one of the pulleys, who knows.
What I do know, and probably does Nasser, is that this RGM Hummer outside of those little issues, is one hell of a machine, a machine capable of winning the Dakar with ease. If theres someone who did show what these RGM Hummers are capabel of, its your guy Nasser. He must be hughly disappointed by those little mechaniacl issues that cost him dearly, probably Overall Victory and most of all, ALL stages! Thats right, the guy wouldve won ALL stages and OA by an hour or more, having not experienced these issues. Everybody knows that, RG knows that, the ENTIRE Dakar knows that. And therefor Nasser earns my utmost respect. And yes Im a devoted Robby Gordon fan, I'll be crying when he wins this thing.
+1
I look at it this way, the Chassis is still intact, Nasser & his co-driver are still intact. Would've been nice to finish but aside from the disappointment & frustration if anything he had fun, made some new friends, and I'm sure he learned a hell of a lot about driving a vastly different type of vehicle compared to what he's raced in the past, all of which will help make him a better racer overall.
