I was just on Jayski's browsing around and saw how the new Nationwide series is going to debute thier new version of the COT. I must say I think this car looks alot better than the car in the CUP series.. at least it has more characteristics of an actual production car.. alot more than a CUP car does.

I like it, its alot better looking than the cup COT. It atleast has a spoiler and no rear wing. the front splitter is also different.
I like just how the car looks so much simalar to the actual production car... Which is why auto manufacture support racing so much. The "win on sunday sell on monday" comes into effect.

i personnaly don't care if its a wing or a spoiler in the back.. as long as it is good for racing. one thing i did notice about that spoiler on that back of the car in the picture... It's HUGE!.. drivers complain about not being able to see thru the wing.. that spoiler has got to be worse...lol
I hear that Robby was going to race many N.W. races untill the new cot cars come out. I hope the races at the Glen and Montreal.
I read today that the Chevy is going to be an Impala when be for I heard it was to be a camaro .oh well I like the mustang in the mix looks good. The test in oct should be interesting
I says that there will be no road coures in 2010? Dose this mean there will be NO road course or the COT will not run on a road couse? Cut from Jayski -> Wallace felt the majority of the owners thought the car should roll out next July at Daytona and probably no road courses will be involved in 2010.

Jack add this link to the top when you can http://www.jayski.com/nationwide/nationwide.htm Thanks.
ok.. it's added.. thanks for helping me make this more complete.
no COT on the road course...not sure about the Glen but I know the Nationwide series goes to Montreal through 2011.
Thanks Lance I thought so but was not sure
A car that sexy would be a huge boost for attracting sponsorships. Hell, after that picture I suddenly wanted a mustang.
well i tell you what.. If that car went out and won a race.... and i was in the market to buy a sports car?? I would definatly be looking at that car pretty hard. my only thing is.. Toyota??? What sports car would they be able to sell under this concept?
That's the problem, they don't have one to market since rumor has it they will be canceling the Solara.

And guaranteed the Chevy one will be a Camaro--they can't use a Camaro in Cup because it is a rule in Cup that the cars must be a "sedan which is manufactured in the United States"--Chevy will use every available avenue to push the Camaro, but Camaro is no sedan. HOWEVER, with Pontiac going away, Chevy will be adopting that SWEET-ASS G8 and making a new Caprice on that model platform so we will probably see all kinds of Chevy muscle up in here in the next couple of years :):)
GM resisting 'muscle car' marketing for Nationwide COT: NASCAR executives are trying to turn the Nationwide series into something of a 'pony-car,' 'muscle-car' tour, which is a brilliant idea, with potentially new demographics and more marketing punch. And those who have seen the new NASCAR-designed Nationwide car-of-tomorrow say it's a good-looker…though conceding it will be a major expense, for teams that are already deep in a hole. Ford and Dodge have signed on to that 'muscle car' marketing concept, but General Motors' officials are continuing to resist putting their new Camaro into the on-track mix. Okay, why? The new Camaro is already a well-marketed NASCAR pace car this season, and it's a spiffy muscle car, which would match up well with the Mustang. So why would GM resist NASCAR push to include it in next season's Nationwide tour? Simple – GM is resisting putting the Camaro under NASCAR's 'common template' body rules. GM's Chevy division wants to hold to the Camaro's distinctive new styling, rather than have to slap decals on a race car that would be all but identical to a common template Mustang and Charger.

New GM..same dumb marketing.....
