Ok. So , remember in 2006 when Robby Gordon got fined $15k for the Roll-bar padding incident at Atlanta? The words from Kerry Tharp, NASCAR's director of public relations, were "It is a very serious matter when a team attempts to manipulate the outcome of a race."
So, after the NW series race this past Saturday at Atlanta, Kevin Harvick stated, "He [Keselowski] told me it was intentional, he needed a caution". This is of course about the water bottle Keselowski threw on the track while race was under green. Now, I know some will dispute that NASCAR stated it was for a piece of metal, but regardless, Keselowski needed a caution, and attempted to manipulate the outcome of a race by throwing out the water bottle under green.
Double standards clearly exist in Nascar.
Thoughts?

RG sure gets a rough time with sanctioning bodies:
NASCAR screws him with unfair penalties and other tactics across multiple series,
SMI kicks him out of 'Dega for advertising SPEED,
SCORE DQ's him for giving the fans a show,
Dakar and the FIA - 'nuff said,
LOORs kicks him out of their races.
I personally never realized it when i was younger.... i wasnt a robby gordon fan untill the last 3ish years... when i turned 18 and i actually fallowed politics. that is when i started to like robby, basically because the double standard (kind of like politics). I now like him because he does what he wants and he pushes the limits and dont take crap. That is nascar car, that is life, that is success, and people in control hate when they cant control people. unless that person is bring in millions of dollars for their pocket book. To be honest alot of poeple didnt and still dont like robby and think he is a punk... but if he would have won more races or something maybe a different story... maybe if he didnt do his on race team and stayed with the big race owners maybe itd be different. but i just see a guy(robby) who pushed the limits and pushes the limits to success and since he does it on his own nascar/others dont like it. This is why im such a robby fan now!
I have always thought that Nascar has double standards and different rules for certain drivers or just looking away from the rules when it comes to a high profile driver. RG never fit the defined mold of a typical France family approved Nascar driver. I always thought the only officials that respected Robby was the late Jim Hunter and Robin Pemberton. I fear what Nascar will do to sports cars with the IMSA and Grand AM merger, hopefully they make it stronger and a more viable series. RG has never been a "company man" to Nascar and I understand and respect what RG is trying to do with Speed Energy and the SST series and I wish him luck. Many times I think of Nascar as a giant Pac Man trying to gobble up any perceived threat of competition or series or black balling a driver that they see as a threat.......think about it........ I always think about what CART would be today with its popularity and sponsors and good attendance in the late nineties and what that would have meant threat wise to Nascar at the time, that is until the France family got Tony George's ear and we know what happened with those ass jockey owners in open wheel. If you recall RG was smart enough in 1999 to see the hand writing on the wall with Team Gordon in open wheel and wanting as far from that as he could get, lease the Irvan Simo cars and move to Charlotte. RG is, has always been and will be a person that marchs to his own drummer and not a corporate sponsored robot....for better or worse. Hell this is the reason that I show up every day on this site (thanks TOG) and still am damn proud to be a RG and RGM fan. I enjoy Daytona, Dega and the Road courses, all the other races that Nascar puts on suck IMHO. End rant.....By the way Big Bill France must be rolling over in his grave just thinking about how in the hell is Brian France related to me...Brian truly is all that was left at the end of the sperm milkshake.
ECW (my bread & butter as it was my local promotion) failed because Paul Heyman sucked at Book-Keeping & WCW failed because Ted Turner nearly bankrupted himself trying to outspend the competition instead of putting on a better show. Over the past 10 years TNA has turned themselves into a solid 2nd tier National (International really I guess) company behind the WWE & ROH has been locked in at #3 for just as long.
Though continuing along with the wrestling comparisons.... 6 years ago you would see this on WWE RAW http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8xErR6BLAA
Whereas today you get this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pglIVp5PfnA
Point being? Shit (pardon my language) changes..
Some guy showed up at my house while I was sleeping. His partner woke me and at my bedside I was told"you better keep your posts short and free of all the stuff you put in them just come right to the point or we will fix things for you....get it" so I'll just say it appears MJ is a wrestling fan thats all I get from this whole thing.
