Ok. So , remember in 2006 when Robby Gordon got fined $15k for the Roll-bar padding incident at Atlanta? The words from Kerry Tharp, NASCAR's director of public relations, were "It is a very serious matter when a team attempts to manipulate the outcome of a race."

So, after the NW series race this past Saturday at Atlanta, Kevin Harvick stated, "He [Keselowski] told me it was intentional, he needed a caution". This is of course about the water bottle Keselowski threw on the track while race was under green. Now, I know some will dispute that NASCAR stated it was for a piece of metal, but regardless, Keselowski needed a caution, and attempted to manipulate the outcome of a race by throwing out the water bottle under green.

Double standards clearly exist in Nascar.

I didn't watch this race, so I can't comment on the specific incident. But it is true, drivers do frequently throw water bottles out of the car. I was at fontana on the backstretch and saw this occur over a dozen times. Yes, most of them were under cautlon, but BK is truthful in saying it happens all the time.

How many times have you heard Robby say, we're a marketing company that races cars. Its just a fact. If you want legitimate awesome racing go to your local dirt track/the desert. NASCAR was started to put on awesome races. Now they care more about revenues than racing and it will lead to their own demise.

Here's the ref to being a marketing company: http://www.race-dezert.com/home/11-qas-with-robby-gordon-29738.html

Found this on Wikipedia and it may help direct my thoughts more intune with other peoples vocabulary

Sports entertainment is a type of spectacle which presents an ostensibly competitive event using a high level of theatrical flourish and extravagant presentation, with the purpose of entertaining an audience. Unlike typical athletics and games, which are conducted for competition, sportsmanship, exercise or personal recreation, the primary product of sports entertainment is performance for an audience's benefit, thus they are never practiced privately. The World Wresting Entertainment Inc. describes professional wrestling with the term 'sports entertainment'. Commonly, but not in all cases, the outcomes are predetermined. However, this is not considered to be match fixing, as outcomes are open secrets.

Pretty much describes what NASCAR has become too huh .

Fans........your forgetting IT'S A SHOW........in real races, cars are able to pass each other.

We were at the race and the water bottle had nothing to do with the caution at all. ESPN generated hype and sore loser combined to make WWF style drama. Lol

Oh what a surprise NASCRAP has double standards. How about the many times, they threw cautions to let JJ get the lead. Even the caution last week helped change the outcome of the win/lose column. Now they say they are cracking down on the Hendricks guys for rear changes to give more downforce. What about all the cheating JJ and Knaus did before this? It is getting so outrageous, NASCRAP finally decided to make a "new rule" when everyone began doing it? When it was just JJ and Knaus that was OK? No wonder they are losing fans. I read where attendance was down about 40% in the last 5 years. I know all the tracks have lowered their tickets, and they cannot fill the seats. Pocono's spring race had lots of empty seats. I remember when you had to buy your Pocono tickets a year in advance - not so any longer. NASCAR is losing fans by the dozens. If they manulipulate it so JJ wins the championship again this year, expert another 40% drop. Joan

Double standards in NASCAR? I'm shocked by such allegations. Shocked, I say.

Life is full of double standards, but why do the same people always end up with the low standard over and over again?
