Ok. So , remember in 2006 when Robby Gordon got fined $15k for the Roll-bar padding incident at Atlanta? The words from Kerry Tharp, NASCAR's director of public relations, were "It is a very serious matter when a team attempts to manipulate the outcome of a race."

So, after the NW series race this past Saturday at Atlanta, Kevin Harvick stated, "He [Keselowski] told me it was intentional, he needed a caution". This is of course about the water bottle Keselowski threw on the track while race was under green. Now, I know some will dispute that NASCAR stated it was for a piece of metal, but regardless, Keselowski needed a caution, and attempted to manipulate the outcome of a race by throwing out the water bottle under green.

Double standards clearly exist in Nascar.

Better to be silent and thought a fool than to shout out and remove all doubt !

Just because NASCAR wants to say that the water bottle was not the reason for the caution doesn't discard the intent. The piece of metal that they did show us being picked up was so far out of the groove that it was one of those pieces that they save just in case they want a caution. But they say that there is nothing in the rule book that says you cant throw a "water bottle" out. WHAT??????

yes, the intent was there by BK. No question.

If you want to play in NASCAR's playground you need to wear a smile, drink the Kool Aid and say everything's good all the time! If you want bonus points you need to give props to NASCAR whenever you are being interviewed - how good the Safer Barriers are working and how well the COT is.... How do you spell vanilla?

In the earlier years and especially when Rusty and Dale Sr were still in the series there were always some interesting moments and guys who were 25th to 35th in points could still win.... remember when they used to pass the lead car during a yellow, back to the finish line to gain a lap back?

Some of the guys who aren't happy drinking the Kool Aid: Kyle B, Kurt B, ....and I know some of you will hate it, but I really liked it when they asked Kyle B about the track after the Bristol race.... He didn't get any bonus points that night.

Hmmm, In almost every form of racing he drives in, he gets harassed by the governing body more than anybody else. Theres one common denominator.

Anyways, he seems to be done with NASCAR. When you dont fit in, build your own series. His inability to go with the system in NASCAR, could actually be a good thing.

NASCAR? Double Standards? Duh. It's a commercial sponsor driven series. He who has the most coins in the pot receives the most promotion.

We saw and heard this first hand during the Vote For Robby campaign in 2008 at the Sprint Showdown qualifier for the All-Star Race. Robby finished 11th in the Showdown and during the cool down someone asked Robby over the radio about winning the fan vote and Robby replied, "Nah, they'll give it to Kasey." Guess who "won" the fan vote? If you said Kasey Kahne you're wrong. Budweiser won the fan vote. Anheuser-Busch didn't pour those millions sponsoring races, the feeder series', official beer, broadcast mentions and one of the prominent broadcast ad buyers without a return guarantee.

The point is, the outcome is predetermined. Like the WWE. So of course there are double standards, there has to be. NASCAR is all about controlling the outcome as much as possible and that outcome must include the select handful of sponsors that put the most coin in the NASCAR pocket. Occasionally a rogue slips through like David Regan winning at Darlington but that's an exception because he should of ran out of fuel giving the win to Carl Edwards.

Where NASCAR screws up is unlike the WWE where the good guys and bad guys both profit from the outcome, NASCAR only rewards the chosen good guys. If Robby was to be the Roddy Piper or The Undertaker of NASCAR as the NASCAR media often portrays him, then reward him for it.

"OK, Robby here's the deal; we're going to throw a caution when the leaders (chosen ones) reach their pit window. You stay out. On the restart we need you to spin Junior or Jimmie. Then we'll black-flag you. We'll have a network pit reporter waiting at your hauler to interview you. Throw in a couple 'shits' and a 'motherfucker' or two. Oh, and be sure to call Jeff Gordon an asshole. The usual $150K bonus will be in your purse check."

Win-Win.

You think Robby legitimately beat Kahne?

in voting, yes he did. No way did the KK fanbase have the voting macros and non stop voting that RG did that year. ANY deal that involved voting where they showed the numbers in real-time , RG was always leading. ( scanner vote ins before they had all drivers, sirius xm driver channel add-ons, etc ).

Okay I'll stay within the confines of the subject and direct any person who may not have caught it, to the debris that was the cause of the extended caution at Montreal (MON-tda-ALL') anyway.....in my opinion much to the double standard it was my outspoken opinion (I gave it to 4 German Sheperds) that NASCAR (yea I'll lay off the nazi thing it got old) okay that they overlooked debris in order to run the namesake out of gas. And would any tool in their collective box to do so. To me it was like and here we go oh look a gum wrapper hold on where if it were Dick Trickle I mean Jeff Gordon leading it would be super sweep lets get this Fu....darn rootin tootin thang a goin'. Sure there is a double standard. If there was no double standard it would not be in the dictionary.

Yes! I do believe NASCAR has double standards and I believe Robby has been the victim of these practices and he is not the only one. NASCAR has worked very hard to mold the series into whatever the fuck it is now, but the haves deffenitly recieve prefferentral treatment...... Off thread on a side note mj, one of the most passionate members of this site was trying to make a point using subjects he is comfortable with and that he felt fit the situation and was bashed and treated kinda harshly because some did not understand, didn't like,or whatever, the relevence the entertainment venue he was using for compairason had to this thread. You may not like what or how he says things but you can't question his loyalty to RG, this site and it's members with that said I think his treatment was shabby and Chicken shit!.....What do you know it does fit I'm sure RG has felt much the same way with his treatment by NASCAR!

Thanks bro glad to know there's a few people out there who get it . I will live and die standing behind Robby . The whole reason I used the wwe comparison is cause NASCAR has become just a phony as it is . Some of the stuff that NASCAR has done to Robby is just as comically stupid as the stuff that goes on in the wwe . The biggest difference at least wwe admits its scripted unlike NASCAR .

"It's pretty obvious," said Harvick, who had confronted Keselowski on pit road after the race. "They put it on TV and showed when the caution came out on the same lap. ... He told me it was intentional, so it is what it is."

Turning to Keselowski, Harvick added, "Sleep good tonight."

Keselowski said throwing a water bottle from the car is nothing unusual and that many drivers follow the same practice. Keselowski also disagreed with Harvick on the timing of the incident.

"It went out of my car 15 to 20 laps before the yellow came out," Keselowski asserted. "I guess that's why I was caught off guard with the comment that the water bottle caused the yellow.

"Everybody throws water bottles out of the car. ... That's how racing works. If you go around the infield at these tracks, I'm sure after the race you'll find 20 water bottles."

NASCAR vice president of competition Robin Pemberton said that a piece of aluminum in Turn 1 was the cause of the caution. He added that the jettisoning of water bottles is a common practice with some drivers.

"We don't think it's out of hand," Pemberton said.

My answer is "Yes"

,clearly double standard...
