Difference between how the S&P teams and top 35 teams trim their cars out. S&P cars are in full blown qualifying trim, take it for what it's worth but Larry Mac said on Nascar performance that usually the S&P teams remove belts, run lighter oil, remove extra or spare electrical items (ignition box), etc basically bare bones to get every extra tenth or mile per hour. He could have been just blowing smoke, but it makes sense to experiment if you are only going to run 5-25 laps.
No I believe what you said. And what Larry Mac says. But you can't run long without belts. Do they also use light weight drivers???
Let it go. Other teams so called old stuff isnt as bad as you think it is. Tenths of seconds is all we are talking about.
Sorry I was just adding my two cents. I'm a Robby fan also. I'll keep my mouth shut about stuff now.
Nothing wrong with putting in 2 cents, just dont assume that a car that starts & parks is some piece of shit. I thought the same thing until I looked at the other teams stuff. These engines and cars are built so much better now than they were years ago.
There are some decent drivers and equipment in the start and park category. They're just not in it to race right now.....
Well I'm sure this is one of the reasons start and park cars don't run many laps in the race, and lack of tires, pit crew. An alternator belt for instance would not be needed I only running say 20 laps, and would likely give the engine a few more hp. They do anything to get that extra fraction of a hp or second. Lightweight drivers wouldn't make a diff, the cars are weighed without a driver and then x amount of weight (I think 190) is added. So every car with a driver under 190 is nearly the same ( I believe, don't quote me)
Should be good this weekend, Robby has had fast cars here almost every year. I'm excited to watch!
Big Surprise! Speed Factory on the car again this weekend.
Quick question about speedfactory- Is it run by RGM or no?
watch the trailer at www.speedfactory.tv
From what I know Speedfactory races are out of pocket races so everyone should just be glad RG is racing this weekend.
