Bad luck for the lads but a cushion still; solid finishes will steady the ship. Helluva race all the same.
Boris Said made a good point on Sirius this morning, when discussing his run in with Stewart. While the track changes are good for reducing yellow laps, it lets driver be much more sloppy, and take risks they would have been screwed for trying in the past. He said that if Tony had tried that pass on the outside before the changes, he would have been in the grass and not there to bump Boris while trying to get back on track.

I hadn't thought about it that way unitl I heard Boris mention it.
Thought of that during the race. It is a very true statement. Noticed it a lot in turn 1, 9, and 10.
Ambrose made a helluva move coming out of the "bus stop" (think on Edwards, or maybe Allmendinger), that I saw before I fell sleep. I wasn't implying the racing was bad, but after getting up extra early to run errands, mow, and do a couple other chores so I could watch Robby's run to the front..........well......lets just say it lost its luster! LOL!
Kevin Conway's days might be numbered at Front Row Motorsports. It sounds like the team has grown tired of Conway's poor performance, and this group will struggle mightily to make races if the #34 falls out of the top 35 in owners points. They are currently 35th in the standings, only 182 points ahead of 36th. A few more bad finishes, and Conway will be on the outside looking in. To this point in the season, Conway has had a guaranteed starting position in every race, due to some fancy number wrangling by owner Bob Jenkins. With one team already outside the top 35 however, thanks to the tire debacle at Pocono earlier in the year, Jenkins can't afford to have another team fall out. Word is that Extenze would continue sponsoring the team, but another yet-to-be-named driver would be brought in.(NASCAR Insiders)(jayski)

Looks like Extenze is happy with their involvment in Nascar, but understanding of a driver change might be needed. I'm sure FRM has been very happy with both Kvapil & Gilliland's cooperation over the season. FRM knows if Conway continues to struggle, having 2 teams outside the Top 35 would be hard to overcome.
Ok, if the #34 falls out of the top 35, it will be because of the #38 taking its place. Jenkins will always have 2 cars locked in the top 35.
More than likely yes, but the #26 team could bump the 34 team out, putting FRM with 2 teams outside the Top 35.

The penalty killed FRM, but Conway's performance has dragged all the teams down in points due to the swapping to keep Extenze on the track. I think smarter minds have agreed, Extenze can stay on the track with a better driver. (This same scenario has happened many times before, Hut Stricklin brought Hills Bros Coffee to Bill Davis Racing, didn't have the results, even missed the Daytona 500, and Hills Bros Coffee stayed with Bill Davis and they replaced Hut with Kenny Wallace).
I remember that. Ol' Kenny didn't fare much better! LOL!
