Penske and Jasper split??

"hearing that Penske Racing and Jasper Engines/Transmissions are going to dissolve their partnership in the engine building program. Supposedly Jasper will continue to build and supply transmissions to race teams".(12-27-2008)(JAYSKI)

Wonder what prompted this??

What prompted this is Penske moving to Toyota in 2010. As I stated before, I believe RGM will be a satelite team for Penske and is doing some Toyota R&D this year for Penskes move next year.

Jasper seperating from Penske adds fuel to this rumor...

Plus you have to wonder if Jasper could do some R&D for Penske on the toyota motor w/o breaking Penske's contract with Dodge. Just something to think about.

Hmm, wonder how many Jasper crates are sitting in the Penske shop. Wonder if there's enough of them with warrantys/maintenence contracts to hold the through '09?
