Okay, I will bite first, don't know anything about the sponsor or if it is something new just for RG, but I think the colors are first rate. Garrett you did a great job on the car

its a new deal that RG is doing , and there will be more about it this week. Alot of footage was shot today at the test,as well as for Baja,Pocono, etc.
hard to see it at the site but here is the background

havent you learned by now, Robby is going to be Robby. He is a visionary . Think back to all of the stuff he has done over the last 20 years. IF his visions fail, then they fail. Id rather try and fail rather than not try and sit back and wonder " what if ?

I am still owed $10 by the dude who said Robbys Dakar program wouldnt last more than 1 year.
Kevin Wilson did the car. I just had it rendered.
Peter,

This is the type of reson why I am a RG fan, he is a very smart business person, and in this economy anything that can generate word of mouth or $$, I am all for. I do agree that RG does spread himself thin at times but as Frank says " I did it my way". I remember RG making that woefull bunch at Morgan Mc Clure pay his contract amount in 2001 after only four races...the boy does seem to have a keen and savy business sense, as far as everyone bitching and moaning about the finishes of late, yes it does not bode well, but hopefully it will turn around. The day to get concerned is when we see a Nascar entry form for a race w/o a RGM car. In the mean time enjoy the 500 and lets get to the wine country. Good luck RGM, and damn that color looks great !!
Robby probably still remembers the first teacher he pissed off who told him he wouldnt amount to anything.
But you act like big dollar sponsors and multiple cars fall off trees. If a driver with the $$ comes along and wants a second car for RG, then I am sure it can be easily done. Of course an unlimited budget and teammates can help find some speed. How easily we forget that RG did in fact TRY to make this happen a few times, with the Yates deal ( that YATES backed out of , mind you ) & the GEM deal.
Interesting that you mention the GEM deal that fell through, TOG. I couldn't help thinking of that a couple of weeks ago when all of the 'RGM is going to be absorbed by MWR' rumors were going around. I'm not saying I bought/buy those rumors, but I thought about the GEM thing when everyone was shouting 'NO! RG will not sell his team! He wants to be the next RCR or Ganassi! How can he do that if he sells! He wouldn't do it!'

Well, the GEM deal tells me he would allow RGM to be absorbed into a larger team, if he a) retained some ownership role in the 7 and b) was allowed to race whatever whenever he wanted, i.e., Baja, Indy, etc.

I mean, does anyone here mean to tell me that if RCR called and offered to buy the 7 with RG remaining as a minority owner with a 5-year driving deal and the freedom to run other series he would turn it down? Please.

Am I off-base here? I am not trying to say what RG should do, I am just saying that words like 'never' shouldn't be thrown around so loosely.

coffee out the nose......nice!
That made me SNORT
On certain levels he is succeding on others they need help. Imagine where he would be if he never moved down south and gave it a go with the mad cuban back in 97'. Maybe driving the motor home with PT today thinking what I coulda woulda shoulda...Fail or suceed he is as stubborn as a mule at times but that is what it is, if you can think back to all the teams that RG was rumored to be going to in the last ten years (and there where plenty), hardly any are still even around. He controls his own destiney, but many are correct that hopefully times will change. I can still curse robert Yates a few years ago, always thought if that deal with RG and Menard would have gone through that would have been great. Of course now we thank of Yates Racing as a shell of itself under FRM, that still pisses me off.
