just a thought, after watching the success of the converted Hummer over the last couple years, how many 1 cars thought of switching over to some sort of full body in order to attract those precious sponsor dollars? Just a thought!

Yes RACECO....David Kriesler owned the place, but Clay Bintz, Sarge, and Henry built that thing. Thats where Mike Smith came from too before he moved on to Herbst and built all their stuff.
ahhhhhhh very ineresting Ken! a small world indeed! Speaking of Herbst, I viewed some video of their Gieser truck, or at least I think its a Geiser truck. But anyway, It appeared the truck didnt work well in some of the video I watched.
I'm fairly certain that the new Herbst trucks were designed and built in house. And I agree they did not look to handle well. The chassis appeared to float in odd motions compared to the tires and terrain. New design, probably still needs some shock tuning and swaybar finesse.
The Herbst new TT''s were designed and built by Derek Collins and was overseen by Mike Smith at Herbst's shop. There were 3 TT's being built next to each other. Herbst got into some financial trouble before Derek could finish building them. Derek was let go and he ended up working for Jesse James on some of his special projects. I'm not sure what he is up to now. Once Herbst got their financial issues straitened out MIke Smith and crew finished one truck. The fab part was pretty close to done when Derek left.
In the past Herbst used Mike Smith designed shocks and are now using Fox. To save cost they are using more off the shelf items vs custom building everything like they did with the Truggy and 4X4 TT. The are not the dominate force they once were.
I swear this thread is like TROPHY TRUCK 101

MJ dont count yourself short there buddy! You have been assigned secretary of this thread. Meaning, you always offer photos of the topics and vehicles at hand. Well done my young apprentice! lol
On a side note, I can say from experience that once you ride in a TT, you would be completely amazed....I drove a class 9 car, and a class 7s hooptie for a while, then had my dream ride in a TT on a course we just ran in the 7s, so the course was still fresh in my mind. And all I can say is wholly SH**!
