Report from the track in Loudon

Just home from the track and having dinner with a friend. Let me begin by offering a disclaimer. I really didn't watch much of practice or quals today and this is the reason. You see, my annoyance and displeasure with this year has varied from mild to moderate to downright intense. At the moment I'm in kind of a mild/moderate frame. The first thing I did at 5:00AM was to forget my scanner and headphones and that just set the tone for the whole day! I was pissed! I did see Rob go out for practice, in fact I was standing in front of the area where they exit the garage area for pit row. I just saluted him and I'm pretty sure he noticed! The man sees everything! He ended up 3rd I think in first practice. He had an early draw for quals and was just OK. His focus during practice is always on race trim and not qualifying! It's highly unlikely I will see any of Saturday's practice or the race itself because I'll be working on a trailer for the next two days. If I get any good tidbits I'll be sure to pass tem along!

He tried to do a qual run in practice, but was cut short on time from someones accident. Didn't have much of a chance for one and only had one lap to try before the Red/Black and was lucky to get that. When I did time him, he ran consistant laps around the 25th place time frame and always improved. Only heard 1 f-bomb on the scanner all day. On a positive note, the bright orange car did get some good TV time on the Sprint Vision
