that is rg's old prerunner from many years ago.......back in the valvoline days

frank nailed it it sterted out as a 66 ford and RG turned it into this, it's been refurbished by it's current owner looks pretty damn good......I was waaaay off on my guess??

Is it the old RG Valvoline\Riviera #3 TT reskinned as a prerunner??

Damn you guys got me I thought if it wasn't Roseanne  it was the old valvoline truck the reskin thru me of cause of the extra cab . Nice find bud .

My guess is that this is Frank "Scoop" Vessels/RG's Truck. Robby raced it for one year, it was a beast!!!! Am I right??????

Is that the PR that Craig Turner owned/owns? It was blue?

Sad to see the old class 8 in that situation/ condition :(.....The prerunner is looking good. I remember seeing it with the old Ford body on it many years ago.

EMA!!!

See that's what I mean it looks sooooo much different as an extra cab

Is it Ema? Thats the first RG truck I remember

It was my first thought when I saw the white fiberglass

That particular truck pictured above was owned and built originally by Venable racing. The truck was the fastest truck on the circuit for a while untilJon Nelson, of Nelson & Nelson built that awesome Chevy Class 8. This truck was driven for a couple years by none other than Rob Mac in class 8 when RG went Indy car racing, before the TT class started. Rob Mac, and larry Ragland had some of the most epic battles back in the day.
I would be pleasantly surprised if the pre runner in the main pic was this truck. It would be a cool piece of history. But dam, that hting has some tought mIles on it.
On to the Bunderson built sherman tank originally owned by Frank "Scoop" Vessels. This thing was a monster! waaay too much travel for the twin-I-Beam design from Bunderson, and extremely heavy, adn unreliable. Had a big block Ford under the hood. This truck was too big for its own good. RG bought it while the Derik Walker assisted, bad to the bone new Valvoline TT was being developed. Whe that truck showed up at our season ending SNORE race for a "real world" test, everybody looked at it just amazed with some laughter and some perplexed looks due its low slung ride heights. All TT's back then were high and wide. RGm along with the engineers from his Indy car team figured out some kick ass shock technology, further changing the face and approach of the TT forever! That was my favorite truck for the longest time. My current fav., is the mid engine TT. That thing handles superb! Jusy my .02! I dont know much, but I thought I would share what I do know.

On a side note, back then, those class 8 trucks ran at top speed only around 5500rpm's. Now days RG's truck is up there in the RPM range. Im guessing at some points during a race he is in the 8500RPM or more range.
I remember Rob Mac telling me this RPM info after a Frontier 500 desert race I think it was. He gave me some rqaw in car video footage of a full race. Gee I wish I kept that stuff! What a ding dong I am!
