after 4 championships and 2 brickyard wins the 48 should not be invited
If you look at participation in this test as some kind of perk for the teams, only meant to benefit the teams and drivers, then I'd agree with you.

But if it's truly a tire test for Goodyear to gather data to make the best tire for racing at Indy later in the year, then I disagree. Goodyear should have as big a cross-section of cars and drivers as possible, so the eventual tire choice does not favor one team, manufacturer, or driver style.

Sure, teams do benefit somewhat from the extra track time, but that's a side effect, not the intent of the test.
i still think that the top 12 shouldnt practice or test
The speedway states that they aren't going to release any of the test session speeds, and anything RG decides to release will be added here when we get it.
I agree with Mike Kenyon, RG got invited to put down rubber for the big teams, end of story.
I happened to have it pop in to my mind that Goodyear might want teams with crappy setups to show how much the "tire can take". Not to offend but if Hendrick shows up with near perfect cars and setups what does anybody learn about "the tire"?
they learn that there is a setup that can handle the tire? So find that setup combination...
Hope to have a few images from the test up soon.
TOG....Nascar now said several Nascar teams tested tires for the Brickyard, do you know how that went and with there rubber down on the track will it still give true results for the Indy cars?
watch SPEED TV tonight at 6:30 during SPEED HUB. Bob Dilner is supposed to talk to RG about the test.
Thanks TOG.
I'd have it recorded on my dvr tonight but no one will be home at that time.

Will you be posting that SPEED converastion here on PR for those of us that will not see it because of work etc...?
