Robby Gordon's Hometown This Weekend California For The Auto Club 500.

After Being Disapointed At Dale Jr. For Forcing Brian Vickers Into Robby I Expect Robby To Have A Fine Performance Run At California This Weekend, Just As Long As Know One Crashes Into Him. We Will Have To Wait And See How His Car Performs During Practice And Qualifying For The Race.

one race can't dictate the strength of RG's program- I think we should wait until after Vegas or even Atlanta to have a clear picture of RGM's abilities on the intermediates.
Remember last year when Johnson was failing miserably on the intermediate tracks in the early part of the season? Sure, RGM may not have Hendrick level resources, but if we any confidence in the team as a whole, we shouldn't be willing to base anything on just california.

Given that California has some of the monotonus racing around, I'm always surprised RG doesn't fall asleep after 50 laps. I don't think it's a racers track, it's a robot track.
If Robby was running single file with the leaders, he might fall asleep. But, since he is usually running mid to back of the pack, he has to stay on his toes as he passes people or is getting passed. In the 7 races I have been to at Fontana, he is rarely in a position of just riding around.
Yeah. We needed some work on our speedway program. Hopefully something good will come of it.
we will see hope it is all good
If history is any indication, I wouldn't expect too much from Robby at Auto Club Speedway. In the Auto Club 500, Robby has a best finish of 12th (2002 and 2004 with RCR). And since the race was moved to February after the Daytona 500 in 2005, his best finish is 18th last year. He has steadily improved in the February race finishing 35th in 2005, 26th in 2006, 21st in 2007, and 18th in 2008, however, I, personally, will not get my hopes up for an 11th-15th finish, and I would be surprised if he finished in the Top 10.
Only 1 Top 10 (9th in 2004) in the Labor Day weekend race. Maybe October will be better for him at Fontana.
I look forward to some tracks, but Fontana 1 word BORING. that place needs alot of work. Banking, shorten it 1 mile, I went 1 year, and will not return. I personally remember Riverside. we need it back. I as always wish Robby my best, for if it werent for him. NASCAR would loose me as a fan (BIG DEAL) HUH!
I have been to just about every race at California Speedway and it may not be the most exciting track as far as racing goes but, I love it. It's a great facility and I have seen some spectacular finishes there. I don't know why it gets such a bad rap either. Guess cuz it's west coast and all the southern NASCAR fans don't like California. Don't really know.
I agree Eric. I watch a lot of side by side racing at Fontana everytime I go (Sunday will be my 8th consecutive race). With me sitting near the entrance to pit road, I have a good view of the 3 and sometimes 4 wide racing through turns 3 & 4. I should dig out my pictures and see what shots I have of the side by side, 3 wide and 4 wide racing.
For the Auto Club 500, I sit in section 70 row 15. For the Labor Day weekend (now October Chase) race, I sit in section 70 row 18. I love those seats.
I AM FROM CALI AND HAVE ONLY BEEN TO THE TRACK ONCE AND IT WAS A GOOD RACE AND LOTS OF SIDE BY SIDE BUT WATCHING IT ON TV IT IS 1 OF THE MOST BORING RACES.NEED TO BANK THEM CORNERS.LIKE VEGAS DID.
