"For the type of asphalt we have here in Texas any type of fluid literally has to be power- washed. For any petroleum-based fluids we use Joy soap and the soap breaks down viscosity of the petroleum so it doesn't eat the asphalt. Late in the race I saw [Robby Gordon] blow an engine and I was like, 'get down to the apron, get down to the apron,' and of course he didn't. He went all the way around the track. That guy made it a really long night for us. Two crews and five hours of pressure-washing all the way around the mile-and-a-half tack and then we had to put oil-dry down to soak up what was left."
