Just thought I'd let everyone know there is an article in this months RACER Magazine article about Robby Gordon and his various racing ventures. I've yet to read it but the caption on the first page of a picture of him at Laughlin says the race was in March so I don't know if the article will be that great.

Thank you! I enjoyed reading what you have written so far and I will be off searching for the Racer magazine next time I am out and about.
You're welcome! My computer is only allowing me to write a little at a time, so here's some more: "Gordon's early bike racing background in the Mexican desert, developed a self-defined culture of innovation and risk; the ability to see, invent or adapt while creating something better from whatever was at hand and persisting with the germ of an idea to make it faster, stronger and better. Gordon's win-or-break style fails a lot of equipment, but seldom twice for the same reason. Bringing ever more design and manufacturing projects in-house at Team Gordon ensures complete control of his future; a focus of Gordon's long-range plan. Even though he readily acknowledges the current advantage the largest "name" organizations have in Nascar, Gordon is certain that his dream of being almost totally self-sufficient will eventually give him complete control of his own destiny. As one of the few owner-drivers still left in Nascar's top echelon, Gordon is a bright anomaly in a sport rife with multi-car teams. His beautiful 70,000 sq. ft. race shop is packed with a close-knit group of racers who keep adding to his arsenal of weaponry and support equipment that gives Team Gordon the edge he feels necessary to compete anywhere in the world with the sports biggest names." This is the end of the article. It includes a huge photo of his Trophy Truck, the Jim Beam #7 and a Dakar Rally photo. Peter Brock wrote the article and says" What does a former Indy car winner do after his open-wheel career? He makes life doubly difficult for himself by running his own teams in two of the toughest catagories in U.S. racing" Glad to share this with everyone.
what month is the article in, sept. oct. or nov.?
I just received the magazine this week. It's the November 09 issue which is the current one. Front cover has 2 yellow Corvettes from ALMS with title "War "Vettes
is there any way i can get a copy of this mag at barnes and noble !?
I've never bought it off the stands. . .I've always had a subscription but it might be worth it to give Barnes & Noble a try. There's a number inside the magazine that says "Reprints: Rick Nitti (949) 417-6734. Don't know if that means they'll reprint the article if you can't find it. Here's their customer service number again: (866) 462-9773. Good luck!
