From Scene Daily: Decade in Review: Nascar's top upset winners 2000-2009.

"From those who won quickly in their careers to others who ended lengthy winless streaks, even to those who won in an unorthodox manner, this decade has provided some intriguing and exciting upsets.

Here's NASCAR Scene's take on the top 10 upsets of the decade:"

"4. Robby Gordon wins the delayed 2001 fall race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Gordon had driven for three teams over the course of the 2001 season and was making his 10th start for Richard Childress Racing. The New Hampshire race had been delayed to the final event of the season and was run in November. Gordon, who was winless in his first 61 starts, wrecked Jeff Gordon, who had already clinched his fourth series title, to earn his first Cup win."

Nothing like a good upset in this sport. The ones with his own team will be way better.

Classic!
Good stuff! I was in high school at that time, and just becoming a fan of his from indycars and baja when i saw that race! I was a huge fan after that>
He didn't even wreck Jeff, but that was a great race, cold november, and he donated the pot to the 9/11 fund- 1st win for Lowes and the 1st win for a #31 car. Still wished he would have tried to run his team with RCR support.
Yeah, funny how the recaps of that race never mention that Jeff actually wrecked himself by running inot Robby's bumper with his nose under Yellow after Robby's "bump and run" and also getting blackflagged for doing so....lol
Does anyone have a video of that race or know where I can get a DVD. Thats the one race I missed and i still depressed over it. I have all his other wins.
Thank's TOG that was fun to rewatch....
There was no spin of Jeff Gordon....the #12 spun..lol

Simple bump and run...#12 was in the wrong place wrong time..

If the #12 had maintained the high lane instead of coming down, Jeff probably would have side impacted him
Wrong! Robby didn't "wreck" Jeff Gordon, he tapped him. Jeff didn't even lose it, but he got mad about it and intentionally ran into Robby, and was pentalized. Find the tape and watch it, or whatever you want, but Robby did not wreck Jeff Gordon in that race.
Actually, 3 replies up, is the replay from the incident, so folks can see for themselves.
I know, thanks, I didn't see that before I made my post. It was cool to see it again. Robby and I were hanging out together a lot in those days, and he actually wanted to drive to Manhattan from Charlotte to see the damage from 9/11! I told him, dude, we wouldn't even be able to get on the island, but I would expect no less from RG. Great memories...
wow. Amazing how time flied this decade.
