I being July 4th have to ask if the drivers and pit crew should all put there hand over there chest when the national anthem was being sung? I believe they should especially on this day. In my book now Denny Hamlin is the biggest piece of shit out there for not doing it tonight abd the furniture row pit crew half did and half didn't. I'm not sorry about this as they all suppose to be Americans and to honor such on a day such is this is a slap in the face to all Americans past/present/future. GOD BLESS THE USA Go Robby.

I agree, that they SHOULD, however, the National Anthem comes at about the worst possible moment in the "cycle" for most athletes. Regardless if we are talking motor sports, baseball, football, or whetever the sport, athlete's spend DAYS putting on their "game face", getting the right mental attitude, running all their plays and moves through their heads. They study weather, their opponants, and any and all possible variables. THEN, with about two minutes before "Start your engines!", we expect them to put everyting on-hold, and focus on God & country. I commend those that do, but I understand for those that don't (or can't). Not making excuses for them, but I've worked with athlete's before, and I know that it takes HOURS to rebuild a disrupted game focus....
I'm more bothered by the fans that can't shut-up, take off their hat, and put down their beer can for the the Blessing, the Presentation of the Colors, and the National Anthem.
You are right Fire, put that way thank you.
