I've never tried SPEED, because I've never seen it on a shelf here in Indianapolis (I know--let me have it!)... Well, I just called the Menard's store in Avon, IN (just west of Indy, the store closest to Speedway) and they do have it... but there's a catch and I want to know if you guys can help fill me in on this...

I talket to a nice person, Ashley, in Groceries and she told me they had all three flavors (about 60 4-packs of Unleaded, 20 of Octane, and 50 of Fuel, IIRC) and that they were on sale for $4.49 (!) a four-pack. She told me they were "red-tagged" which she believed meant they weren't getting any more in once this sold out. I askedd her to check on that so when I come in to get some maybe she could give me more info.

Three things:

1. If you're in central Indiana and you're a RG fan, PLEASE call your Menard's and GNC and ask about SPEED Energy--then go buy some! We can't call ourselves fans and let big distribution opportunities like these slip away.

2. Does anybody know anything more specific about all this? I basically told Ashley "don't let that happen!" so let's help her out ;)

3. Brickyard weekend is nearly upon us... Any news about new distributors, handouts to generate "buzz", etc?

If this is old news, forgive me, and links will do. This all happened in the last 10 minutes and I wanted to put the word out before I go digging for more info.

I am pretty sure that the furthest east Menards is the one down the road from me in Massillon, Ohio. This was the case about a year ago anyway.
I was in Boston last weekend and they didn't have hardly any coverage on the local news about the Loudon race, I can see why it is hard to sell it. The only coverage was of course Roush-Fenway related when Carl Edwards thre out the first pitch at the Red Sox game.

Regardless of any contracts, it seems apparent that Robby and John Medard have a long time, positive, personal relationship. From the start of Speed Energy, I have assumed that Menards and/or John, have a significant ownership interest in Speed Energy. If not, at the very least, it could have been a frieind helping to move old product to meet a copywrite lawsuit deadline. I would imagine TOG knows most of the details, but as privately held companies, they certainly don't have any obligation to supply us with info that could compromise their competitive position in the industry.
@Matt, I'd wager that you have little to no idea what John Menard and Robby's relationship consist's of.
BTW, YagerBuilt stickers are on nothing I run,yet Bill is a huge supporter of mine.
Point, stickers and websites aren't the endall.
Sell more cases = race more races!
O boy, the conspiracy theories again. If Menards supplied Speed in Centeral Indiana, and they are red tagged, that means nobdy is buying the product. No business would stop ordering something that was making them money. People in Central Indiana need to go buy the product. Guys, dont forget, this product is brand new, it takes time... If something doesnt have a huge marketing plan, it isnt going to blow up over night... it takes time. No need to panic
Red tag at Menards means unadvertised sale while supplies last. When gone they are gone, so if want speed energy from Menards hustle on over.
Speed has been red tagged several times at the Milwaukee area Menards. The shelves were practically cleaned out at one point throughout the area. However, the Menards closest to me just got a shipment of 4 packs in with the old logo in within the past couple weeks. They also have additional back stock on the top shelf which looks like it has an order/ship date of 6/22/11 written on it. So it looks like they're still getting it in.
keep in mind, OLD STYLE LOGO.......
So. IL.Menards get it in all the time. Menards up north 2hrs get it in all the time and up in Chicago has had it from day one. Some one is buying it. Its only been 7 or 8 Mo.give it time,All I know the kids at the skating rink like it a lot.Its doing fine. Look at all the shit thats going on the past 2 years and robby comes out with a all new drink.. Some one has Balls.keep up all the good work.
I actually brought it to a fraternity alumni weekend w/ vanilla smirnoff. Fuel is very sweet, the kids loved it! The "adults" about 50/50. Its an energy drink for people who dont like energy drinks. Once market saturation is reached I expect to become very popular...I went by a GNC in SF, no SPEED whatsover. It has the potential to be a very successful product, but it needs to first reach the population.
I live in Mooresville, and i will definately be buying more from the one in camby. Im thinking about buying spped shirts and promoting it around my high school.
