SPEED ENERGY STADIUM SUPER TRUCKS™ SERIES ANNOUNCES CHANGES TO 2013 SCHEDULE

CHARLOTTE, NC (June 18, 2013) – Robby Gordon OFF ROAD™ announced today that its Stadium SUPER Trucks™ Series (SST) will make venue and schedule changes that will alter the remainder of its 2013 schedule. Included is the addition of an SST event July 13 and 14 in Toronto.

According to series founder Robby Gordon, administering the first six races of the season in a span of only nine weeks was a difficult but rewarding challenge for the Stadium SUPER Trucks Series workers and crew.

“With such an immense undertaking in staging huge events like this around the country, and running six races in nine weeks, the schedule didn’t always allow us to optimize event preparation and race vehicle maintenance,”

Gordon said.

“We learned a lot that will help us continue to bring the most exciting brand of motorsports to racing fans everywhere. The improvements in our schedule for 2013 will enhance our program by helping us build our brand and position SST for a great 2014 season and beyond.”

New venues include 2 races in Toronto July 13-14 in conjunction with the IndyCar Series; Chicagoland Speedway July 19-20; and Crandon (WI) International Off Road Raceway August 30-Sept.1.

More details on the SST race at Toronto will be released later this week.

Removed from the original schedule are Chicago’s Soldier Field (June 22); Atlanta’s Georgia Dome (July 6); Dallas Cowboys Stadium (July 13); and the Minneapolis Metrodome (July 20).

The series is expected to announce in the coming weeks two additional events west of the Rockies for September and another in October.

SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks opened its season in Glendale, Ariz., on April 6th, and recently completed five more races over the following nine-week period that included the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, two events at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium, and the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.

Forgot to put my /sarcasm on there. Some sort of web broadcast would be cool though.

Well. I re aranged my plans. We will be in Chicago now fo the race instead of MN. These changes made us look at our trip different and change what we were doing all summer

I hope the TORC serries puts SST on their schedule.

My son doenst believe in bad man, superman, Spiderman or anyone else. Robby Gordon is his super hero and he is at the age that if he sees a race with Robby and that Orange truck he will remember for ever.

We are looking forward to the Route 66 race

My head is all frigged up about my hope they do a promo stop in Buffalo if in fact they cross over here to get to Toronto............The queen told me in no uncertain terms that if "You and that group you call friends try and cross this border again it will be bars and stars for everyone..........but not the kind on your flag"

This article shows a November 9 race in Las Vegas. On the SST website schedule the November date is not listed. It shows Crandon on September 1, TBA September 21, and TBA October 5.
Is there still plans for a Las Vegas final? How about the location of the September and October venues? Hope to see something soon.

This article makes mention of SST in Houston, which would presumably be in conjunction with the IndyCar event on the weekend of October 5th & 6th. I haven't seen anything official from SST on this date though.

Thanks,forgot there I saw that.

Now that is interesting..... SST could be a great show to add to Indy Car's series regular schedule. I am cautiously optimistic and if they are going to Houston I hope they announce it soon. I might be able to make another Texas trip in October.

When do you head south for the Baja 1000?
