Cool stuff! This is from the email blast!
Charlotte, N.C. (October 18, 2013) – Caesars Palace Las Vegas has hosted some of the greatest entertainment acts in the world – from Evel Knievel, to Frank Sinatra and Celine Dion, to the Formula One World Championship events in 1981 and 1982. On Thursday, November 7, 2013, taking part simultaneously with the automotive industry’s premier trade show, SEMA, Las Vegas history will once again be made as the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks™ event (SST) makes its way to Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip.
The race track for this special one-day only event will be constructed in front of Caesars Palace. High-flying SST trucks will propel past The Colosseum and through the Caesars Palace marquee. Fans will be thoroughly entertained as the high horse-powered SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks battle door-to-door, drifting around the seven-turn asphalt racecourse and flying over specially constructed metal ramps.
This event is open to the public. Tickets can purchased onsite at Caesars Palace or in advance at http://www.stadiumsupertrucks.com.
An event at Caesars has long been a vision of series President, Robby Gordon. The unique form of racing that SST offers was immensely popular more than 20 years ago – known then as the Mickey Thompson Off-Road Championship – and fittingly Gordon, one of the world’s greatest off-road racers, has brought it back to life.
“Bringing SST to Caesars during SEMA Show week, the world’s most premier automotive specialty products trade event,is something unheard of,” said Gordon. “We would like to thank everyone at Caesars Palace and The Forum Shops at Caesars for giving us the opportunity to present a race like this. Getting to race SST trucks on this property is something phenomenal.”
“Through the years Caesars Palace has always set the standard and continually raised the bar on the Las Vegas Strip,” said Caesars Palace Regional President Gary Selesner. “An event like this is special because it pays homage to the historical attention-grabbing events that Caesars Palace is known for – like Evel Knievel and the Formula One races, yet also brings forth a new element of exciting entertainment for our guests. We are thrilled to welcome SST with this monumental event and encourage locals and race fans alike to join in on the action.”
In addition to the SST lineup, USA Pro SuperMoto and Modified Trophy Karts will be competing with a full program of qualifying and main events.

Press release from Stadium Super Trucks:
Las Vegas, Nev. (November 8, 2013) – The final race of the 2013 Inaugural Season
of SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks would see the high-powered formula
off-road vehicles tackle the temporary constructed asphalt course at Caesars
Palace under the lights of Las Vegas, just steps away from the famous Las Vegas
strip.
The day would begin with SST’s taking to the track for morning and afternoon
practice sessions, before clocking a best of 2-laps qualifying run. Keegan Kincaid
of Crandon, Wisc., driving the Traxxas sponsored No. 47 for Mike Jenkins laid
down the quickest lap with a 23.436. Robby Gordon would qualify in the second
position with a 23.558, and Jerrett Brooks qualifying third with a 24.043.
Friday night’s SST final would see P.J. Jones and Rob MacCachren pace the 30-lap
SST final to green. The races original start would be called back as Arie Luyendyk
Jr. would charge into Scotty Steele's truck in turn 2, the trucks became lodged
together bringing out the red flag. After a complete restart Jones would lead lap-1
followed by MacCachren and Brooks.
The next 5 laps the top three would remain the same as Jones extented his lead to
nearly four truck lengths ahead of MacCachren. On Lap-8, Brooks would miss his
mark in turn 2 allowing Gordon to slip by into the third position.
On Lap-15 mechanical failure would strike multiple trucks, including championship
points leader MacCachren would slow on the front stretch ending his run in the
second position. At nearly the same time, Gordon and Sheldon Creed would also
encounter mechanical woes.
Creed would retire the No. 74 Magnaflow entry early while MacCachren and
Gordon would return to the race for valuable championship points.
Restarting in the fifth position Gordon did not waste any time moving back into
the top 3. The front runners would consist of Jones, Brooks, and Gordon for the
next 7 laps until Brooks would encounter a mechanical issue allowing Gordon to
overtake the second position. Brooks would lose several positions before
eventually dropping out of competition, allowing youngster Scotty Steele to move
into the podium contention.
In hot pursuit of Jones for the remaining circuits Gordon’s quest for his fourth win
of 2013 would evaporate as Jones, would go on to capture his first ever SPEED
Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks win. Gordon would cross the finish line in second
while Steele would earn his first SST podium finish.
With MacCachren encountering mechanical issues late in the SST final, Gordon
would go on to clinch the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks inaugural season
points championship by just 7 points.
Watch for the 2014 SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks season schedule to be
released in the upcoming weeks.
The series could have folded after St. Louis. It didn't. The series in a way reinvented itself thereafter. To me it's a testament to the hard work and dedication that everyone involved showed when faced with adversity to do what makes sense to keep moving forward. To continue on to 2014 is a sign of success imo.
I'm not sure I'd come to Seattle,Spokane maybe.Seattle is to busy playing video games.
I dunno.. I kinda like the grassroots campaign. Keep the costs down and build a larger fan base. I would like to see SST/Indy car weekends revisited. Speedweek at Daytona maybe. Throw in a couple stadiums and Crandon and you got yourself a season. Just happy there will be season 2. Furthermore, it will be easier to sell said product now that it has a season's worth of exposure.
