Well with Dakar in the rear view, I started thinking about the SST series. I realized that I didn't know as much as I thought, so what better place to ask than here!! Is Robby racing in it? It would seem to be a conflict if he was to win, and if he has multiple wins I'm not sure how that would go over? How many trucks will race the main event? They'll have qualifying on Saturday, does this mean that all the trucks that race the qualifying heats are in the main even? Is there a drivers list yet or is this an ongoing process? I'm sure I'll have more questions, but these are for starters.

MJ, thanks for the question. I think sometimes you ask to help me, the beginner, out!
true alan... but, you have to wonder if the other competitors might take issue with the fact that robby has so much seat time during the design, build, and testing of the sst trucks.... i cant wait for PHX and Vegas btw!!!
I really like the whole SST idea and I think that it will be a real success. The only thing that I am having a hard time with is the Long Beach Grand Prix race. I understand that they will have 200,000 spectators and priceless publicity, but to put those trucks on a concrete track, medal jumps and concrete walls...only a WEEK before the biggest race of the year (LA Coliseum)...I hope they realize that they will have 30 TORE UP race trucks and only a week to get ALL of them to PERFECT condition. The LBGP race will definitely help sell out the LA Coliseum race, but I've got to think that they will have a few pissed off drivers that are not provided with competitive trucks....especially with $500,000 on the line.
I think by then they should have a substantial back up of trucks if not 30 sitting and ready to go! What will they use for a tire on concrete? Will they be using slicks like NASCAR?
