It all comes down to Today. Hope for a safe and fun show that fans will love to come and see.

@Kevin, nice thread,thank you

This event has everything a motorsports enthusiast needs. Loud trucks, big jumps, competitors banging door to door thru tight corners all under the lights of a state of the art stadium. Anything could happen out there as one slip up could create all sorts of mayhem on the track. I know the fans are in for a treat tonight, and with the talents of NBC, this race should make for an exciting television experience. I have learned over the years that we as a society are a very visually orientated people. Once fans see SST they'll be hooked!

Today's THE day!! Is there a chat for this event or not because there's know way to follow along? Will this be on Live Stream? I'm assuming not because that would hurt the TV watching for next week?!

Good question. In my opinion watching live stream wouldn't hinder me from watching SST on NBC next week. They'll be completely different formats with live stream being raw footage, whereas NBC will be edited in a way to offer the best of everything. If anything, watching live stream tonight would only whet my appetite for the TV show. I would think that it would be helpful for a series in its' infancy to try to obtain as much footage as they can and get it out there in as many media venues as possible.

I agree with you Kevin, watching livestream would only make me want to watch the NBC spot even more. The 1 thing I don't like about the TV coverage is that they condensed it into an hour, I would like to see it 2 hours with maybe some behind the scenes coverage from the pits.

I am willing to bet that at some point in the future that could happen with the TV coverage. Right now I would imagine that NBC will experiment with the format, and if the measured response is good, NBC would look to expand the televised schedule. It's all about the neilsen ratings baby! If NBC can get more viewers than they anticipated that would translate to more advertising revenue and it would make good fiscal sense to capitalize on the SST event's success.

Is there any chance that the video from qualifying will be posted on the Planet, the livestream feed won't play from there site.

Well gentalmen you all have a great day, Kevin to echo Mike thanks for the thread and the schedul.e We are getting ready to head out the door first to Cabela's which is in the same area as the Stadium and then over to UOP for all the events of the day! Wishing all the Planet regulars were going to be there for a "real" live chat, but I'm sure there will be plenty to talk about over the next few day's. I'm out! GAS ON! Planeteers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have a great day Wally. Wish I still lived in Phoenix so I could be there. We are thinking about moving back, we've had enough of midwestern winters...

Take lots of pictures to post, Have a great time

Already hooked, I think I am more excited about SST then I was about DAKAR. Seeing these trucks bang around in a tight course, I think the American motorsports fan don't realize what's about to hit. Of course we old schoolers have been there with Mickey Thomson, but this is going to be better IMO.

The Long Beach, Los Angeles and San Diego commercials should have some good footage.
