After listening to Nelson Piquet it sounds like RG may be able to switch over to an ownership role in Nascar and possibly bring in a driver with their own sponsorships.
Nelson stated on XM today that his goal is to bring other Brazilian drivers to the U.S. and help them get into American Motorsports. Seems like with RG being more of an International team that the infrastructure is there for Nascar as well as all the other things going on at RGM. If he can find a "development" driver that can pay their way and use some of the stuff in the shop so it isn't collecting dust, it would be a win-win situation. There are already a couple Nationwide cars in the garage... right??? Probably a handful of cup cars, so find someone that wants to "Pay To Play".
RG could always run the Nascar races that are fun for him like Michael Waltrip continues to do.
Just a thought.

Yes, the Ford PR from a couple of days ago said he was leaving Ford.

I thought Roush was the Dark Side

From CBS Sports a few minutes ago.

SPARTA, Ky. - Dodge released a statement on where the manufacturer's plans stand in NASCAR for 2013 and beyond.

The statement came from Beth Paretta, Director of Marketing and Operations - SRT Brand and Motorsports, Chrysler Group LLC:

"While we continue to evaluate plans in NASCAR for 2013 and beyond, we have no commitments with any partners at this time. We continue to be pleased with the amount of interest from the media and fans in our motorsports program and will continue to follow our process as established in a timely manner. When decisions are finalized, we will announce them at that time. Currently what is most important is that we have not lost any focus on 2012 and our partnership with Penske Racing. Our commitment to win races and compete for championships with Penske Racing in both the Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series this season remains firm. We will not lose focus on that partnership as we make decisions about our future in NASCAR."

With Penske Racing's move from Dodge to Ford, the manufacturer is currently without a NASCAR organization for 2013. While there has been recent speculation that Michael Andretti could add a NASCAR operation to his current Indy Car initiative, no confirmation has come from either the race team or Dodge regarding the possible relationship.

An online report earlier this week linked Andretti as potentially buying the current Penske engine building operation but that was categorically denied by the organization.

"Contrary to recent published speculation, Penske Racing has not sold its engine company," said Tim Cindric, Preisdent of Penske Racing in a release. "The team's focus continues to be on successfully completing the 2012 season, competing for championships and victories in the both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series for Dodge and our other sponsor partners."

This entire matter is a roulette wheel, turning under your watchful eye as a marble (Dodge) circles the rafters slowly coming to rest in between a pair of rails that would be the new home of the Dodge brand. With logic and market as the croupier it could very well be a rigged game with one winner set to beat the living hell out of the MoPar drum and a handful of losers watching as the chips go sliding in two directions at once. For the losers business as usual and for the winner a chance to take the tiger by the tail and wrangle in full force with a newborn conglomerate of great looking car, who knows what power plants and yet another new face or two to tow the company line on the weekends. If I were a fan of casual offerings when it came to time dedicated to this sport it would all seem a shiny new box full of joy and surprises, however as a well versed race junky I am of the belief that this venture is going to stagger out of the gate like a three legged horse and crap out in the early going. Whatever the entity that is formed from this for next year it will have to be a "dedicated effort". and as much as I'm holding out hope that the man Robby Gordon finally gets a break with his CUP team I can't help that feel there are too many chips on one number for it to hit. And unless things happen quick number 7 is not going to be the number called. I can feel the NAZICAR rope unraveling all around me and it blows. Thank you for the SST I sure hope I can watch it somehow when it happens. And I like hoping I'm wrong.

Ok, so once again they diverted the fan to yet another potential team. First Petty, now AndrettI! Think about it....who's sitting quietly, saying nothing! Poker, does anyone play poker? When the games over, the money ends with one of your buds....you're in your car as you drive home and smile....suckers....they thought you didn't have a chance....Once again I'll say, you read it here first.....
