One thing I LOVE about being a Planet member is the tech talk. It makes following the car's performance fascinating to understand how such close differences in tolerance make such a drastic difference in handling. And it's something that I want to pass along to readers of a consumer newsletter I write. I've been offering weekly consumer interest articles for 11 years now and include columns targeted to gearheads whenever opportunity presents.

Would any of you techies out there have a few minutes to answer some questions I have for an upcoming article on the science of racing? I'm planning to run it either the week before the final race for the Chase or immediately after. I'm looking for things such as how so many teams can qualify within a tenth, yet not even come close to each other on race day. What parts can teams tinker with and which will bring a huge fine. Setup differences by track types, considerations with the switch to fuel injection, etc.

We can conduct the interview through PM if it works better than keeping a post flowing with limited interest. Or maybe if there's enough interest you can educate a whole new group of Planeteers.

If you'd like to see previous samples before responding, check out http://www.gcfbank.com/gcf0526.asp. Or reflecting my own computer tech background at http://www.gcfbank.com/gcf0817.asp. We have a weekly e-circulation of 9000 and post each week's offering on the web site that I also built and maintain. Not bad for a small community bank in NJ! Thanks for any insight you can offer.
