"drives his way throught the field", may be a stretch. Battle to stay on the lead lap may be more fitting. Either way, hopefully a good day.
all he has to do is pass a few cars and he has accomplished that!

Talked to RG Friday, they have 3 new cars for the last 3 races. So I think last weeks Car is the back up.
Fly, based on your phone call, then the back up is the JB Atlanta car. That means the Phoenix car would be a new Short Track chassis and then the Homestead car would be a sister to the one wrecked here and the Atlanta car.
that would explan the Jim Beam colors.
That's good,
HUH? The car wrecked wasn't the primary (TTCOT) he ran at Atlanta? I heard him say there were 2 more in the works but not finished yet. My guess was that he'd have one finished in time possibly to load in the shuttle to meet up with the hauler in Texas before going to Phoenix. OR>> he already had something worked out with an old short-track chassis for the Phoenix race & that the two new pieces would be ready as the primary & backup for Homestead.
did rg get any laps in, in the backup?
He did. Car obviously wasn't up to par with the primary, but was semi-competitive. He still managed to beat Sadler and some others in the few laps that he ran.
thanks
