I've been saying that for a while. The Chase has made it more interesting merely because there's competition going on at different levels. Prior, the attention was only on the driver at the top unless someone was close behind. But shaking up the contenders at the start gives us 12 drivers with a chance rather than one or two. And nobody wants to have to qualify for Daytona plus the following 4 races. Much more at stake now.

I agree with your post. I wish it was as easy as that.

btw, isn't the Air Guard 'sponsorship' not really a sponsorship but just the owner honoring them for free instead of running a plain wrap car?

Ya don't need a Big Sponsor, when they pay ya $3.5 Million a year in prizemoney.

5K gets you a set of tires...maybe. To make that 3.5, you need to spend 15+.

Wasn't it this year that there was a 5K car at Daytona.. TheWoods bit*hed about it..
