Did you all see what he wrote on si.com yesterday? The entire piece was wrong other than that Robby had 3 lawsuits going on.

Check it out:

Speaking of NASCAR losing drivers to the IndyCar ranks, Robby Gordon appears on his way out of town. Right now, he's fighting three lawsuits: one versus former sponsor Extenze for non-payment, a second versus BAM Racing for breach of contract and a third against Specialized Bicycles for copyright infringement over allegedly using their logo for his SPEED Energy Drink. None of them appear to be resolved in the near future.

His Cup program has sponsorship for only a handful of races, and multiple sources say Gordon has grown weary of trying to fight a losing battle as a single-car, independent owner/driver on the circuit. Off-road sponsors like Monster Energy Drink are the only ones helping keep the No. 7 afloat right now, hungry for the additional exposure NASCAR's fan bases gives their product. Without them, Gordon's car would have already been auctioned off by now, and I don't expect to see him manning the driver's seat much beyond the first five races of 2011. In fact, should IndyCar continue its upward swing, there's a strong possibility the former open-wheel regular might move in that direction for 2012 and beyond.

Hilarious. The best part is when he talks about Monster Energy sponsoring his car and Speed energy sponsoring his car.  Also note that he says "none of the lawsuit will be resolved in the near future." Whoops! one already has!

I smell a Pulitzer Prize.

Pulitzer prize or PUTZER prise

Professional, responsible reporting. Jeez what a misinformed dumbass.

It is probably a simple case of laziness. While we all know Rob's plans inside and out, most of the media hacks are too busy trying to find out the scoop on what Junior eats for breakfast, etc.

So when they do a story on a guy who is in the 30's in points, they take the easy way out and don't bother checking their facts.

I also like how he said monster and his other off road sponsors are hungry for NASCAR sponsoring when in fact monster has little interest as a NASCAR sponsor

Aside from Indy I can't see Robby doing induced again. Off road and rally would be far more likely

Sports Illustrated has been a joke for years.  I almost wish traditional sports media would go back to ignoring motor racing and leave it to the people who know something about it.

Yep. The only thing worse than SI is ESPN when they make Tony kornheiser or skip bayless talk about it.

My, how the total lack of accountability for they what they write is non-existent. The entire article is worthless.  I was going to read again to try to find a shred of value, but then used my better judgment.  Oh.... the agony!

Please.....somebody take this guy’s keyboard away from him before he hurts himself with it.

I sent Tom an email telling him I'm hearing Red Bull will be co-sponsoring Dsle Jr.along with Amp Energy next year.

wish he had some truth behind the indy car move, nascar has become way too boring imo.

Just goes to show... There is only one place for reliable info on Robby..  Right here!
