The best way to tighten up the points at the other end of Nascar's Top 35 is rainouts. It allows drivers 36-42 to make the race and gain points.

The best way to put some distance and give some breathing room is for qualifying to take place. Drivers outside the Top 35 who are guaranteed a spot during rainouts love to see qualifying cancelled.
"You hate to wish for rain, but knowing we're in the show and giving an opportunity to convert to race trim, let it pour!" said one of Mayfield's crew members jokingly.

Drivers Paul Menard, Aric Almirola and Scott Speed can race their way into the Top 35 in a single race, but if they fail to qualify it becomes a huge gap. Not to mention drivers with a slight advantage inside the Top 35 can be shuffled out.

The forecast calls for rain, but not during qualifying.

Knowing Robby's troubles here makes you wonder which way would benefit him the most. I am keeping positive thoughts all weekend. Gas on Robby. Can you imagine DW comment if he finished in the top 10, 5 or even won here? Big dreams right?
I think Robby has a decent run, 26th type run. Solid points day and moves on to better tracks.
Yea the EGR camp is really having a hard time this year...and I dont think its equiptment
Practice at noon will get in..qualifying is going to be VERY iffy today....that rain is coming up quick! (in Charlotte as I type). The only bonus is that quals will go quick...so if it holds off until 5pm they might sqeak it in...but I dont think they will.
