I know lately a lot of us have had questions regarding the whole "top-35" rule and how phantom owners can be locked in despite not even being around the year prior. Anyway, there was an interesting article today on SceneDaily about it: http://www.scenedaily.com/news/articles/sprintcupseries/Scrambling_...

Personally I think it's BS that Jr's pal could potentially get the lock thus kicking out Hornish and/or Allmendinger who busted their asses last year.

"Brad Keselowski, driving for Phoenix Racing, is expected to be locked into the field for the Daytona 500, and there could be others also guaranteed starting spots in the opening NASCAR Sprint Cup races as various points transfers are being talked about as teams outside the top 35 in owners points try to secure those positions."

"NASCAR has been quiet on the issue of who is getting whose points because it is still accepting entries for the Daytona 500, but it appears that drivers who once thought they could be locked in – most notably AJ Allmendinger at Richard Petty Motorsports (also the JTG Daugherty Racing No. 47 car of Marcos Ambrose!) – will end up having to qualify on speed for the first five races of the season when the 2008 owners standings are used to set the field."

This should make JB7 happy. ;)
HAHA not at all..it makes me even more pissed actually ...lol As much as the 47 and 34 do not deserve those owner points, I have no F!@#$ing clue how Keselewski in the 09 Micouskee car gets owner points using some BS 5th car rookie when he's driving for a single car team for the 500..in addition to that Brad Keselewski is already signed to drive the #25 Daddy for Hendrick as a rookie under the same 7 race 5th car allowance rule.

Nascar better step up and lay down some fucking law...this is regoddamndiculous
That's all that matters.
David Poole has a nice Op-Ed piece today...

At what point does point-swapping get too silly?
now that is the way it should be.but nascar has to bend over for theses good ole boys.
I do not subscribe to the conspiracy theories that pop up on this site, but lets be honest. Does anyone think Nascar would have allowd RGM to get those points from DEI/Ganassi for a partial schedule car? Kesolowski happens to be Dale Jrs boy, odd coincidence?

This is becoming a circus. I am beginning to agree with Jeff Burton. There should be 43 franchised teams, and that is that. You want into the sport? Buy a team from the current owner.
